Ok.. some of you might remember that I got robbed a few months back on a dinky mooch that I bought from salam4...

quick reveiw for those out of the loop.....

I paypaled the cash to the guy
He says he sends the cue... around the first week of DEC..

A month goes by.. no cue
A hundred emails.. PM's.. also PM's form other members here and repeated attepmts by paypal to get his side of the story....

NOTHING.. not a peep... actually I think he did reply to one of the other users here once.. but that was before paypal got involved..

Anywho.. weeks go by with not a word from this guy and paypal refunds "most" of my cash sometime in FEB.. I still got jobbed for like 20 bucks at the end of it all...


Well low and behold I go to check my box yesterday, and what do I find ... the stick...it was lost (i guess) for a long time and finally turned up.

Now I could eaisly not bring this up and be one cue richer.. Nobody would know the better...

But I just aint that kinda dude.. so Salam4, I apologize for beating you up the way I did. I take back all of the dirty words :D. and I want to take the time to clear up your rep a lil bit.... sorry ...

BUT... it still doesnt change the fact that you ducked me.. you did the right thing and could have avoided all of this mess if you would have just spoke up. I was wrong for saying some of the things I did, but how was I suppossed to know?

You still shoulder some of the blame for this.. I could have just kept my trap closed and you would be none the wiser...but I want to give you the chance to help me figure out how to fix this...

.. the cue is in shit shape.. I dont know how it left your hands, but it was packaged very poorly and is dented to all hell and back. I honestly aint even sure if I want it any longer...


Do you want some cash for it or would you rather pay me the money still owed to me and the shipping cost back to you...? I dont mean to be a dick about the shipping cost, but you are the one who made the choice to duck me for 4 months...




To the other members .. what would you do/ suggest to finnish this deal up ?

Post pics of the cue, the box it came in, etc, just so we can see how damaged. Maybe someone else will buy it off the guy for a reasonable price, if you decide to not take it.
 
I can get pics up later... but it came in just a tube and a a cheapo leather "case".. no buble wrap or protection AT ALL... the tube didnt look to beat up.. but one end was a little rughed up and wasnt tape closed...


Nobody is gonna want it.. I only bought it b/c it was the same model as my first Mooch from way back in the day...but it is an opition
 
This is the first I have heard of your situation, but it seems that you described it pretty well. As of now, you are out $20, but he is out a cue? If he sents you your $20 and shipping cost then that is what he is out and you would be out nothing. I know it sucks for you having to wait and not getting replies back from him, however I think the fairest thing to do is maybe split the shipping cost and call it a wash. You are right that him not responding to you is wrong and may be part of the blame, but maybe he thought you were the one trying to scam him, because he knew he sent out the cue. Kind of a lame excuse, but I don't know why else he wouldn't respond if you told him there was a problem. Maybe he has a good reason, but I don't know. Just think of his side, IF he did send out the cue in good condition and soon was being accused of being a thief, and then paypal takes the money from his account. This situation would suck for him too. Plus, you said you did call him names and say bad things about him. Hopefully, he will understand your frustration and not hold it against you. Good luck and I hope everything works itself out.

So KUDOS to you for doing the right thing.

Personally, I would not keep the cue. Perhaps you pay for return shipping, he pays for the original shipping, call it a wash and call it a day. He does owe you the 20 buck difference that PayPal didn't reimburse you, though.

First off thanks for the kind words,

but......

Why should i eat 20 bones? I honestly dont need 20 bucks but the principle is worth way more.

Hell. I never even brought this up to the forum until i was months into it.
 
Von Rhett: I couldn't agree more - had a few negative energy cues with bad vibes. One was a cue from a known cuemaker that I sent back because of an issue. He sends me a new cue but in a different design and one shaft short. I hated the design, hated the fact that I wasn't consulted. The cue never felt good to me. I tried to sell it and no one would even look at it. It disappeared in Las Vegas in 2006 and honestly it was several months before I realized it was gone. $1200 cue and I didn't care - I was happy it was gone.

Pancake - Tough call. The guy shouldn't have ducked you at all, should have provided tracking numbers to prove that a package had been sent to you - tracking numbers are available on ALL shipped packages these days including USPS. If you don't want the cue then simply tell him to send you the shipping plus what you are out and wait for the money.

However, if you want to wsh your hands of it and aleviate some of your bad mojo for going off then call it a life lesson pay the couple bits and walk away from it. The money you spent will be quickly forgotten but the feeling of being the bigger guy will stay with you forever. AND it's a huge deposit in your Karmic account.
 
This will teach you to use escrow on high dollar purchases off of Ebay. I know there is a charge for it but it's worth the extra money to me knowing that the person isn't getting my money until I get my product. I bought a guitar off of Ebay a few years back and it got lost ins transit. Luckily it was only gone about 3 weeks but the money wasn't sent to the seller until I checked off on the item. If I didn't want it all I had to do was send it back and wait for my cash to return to me.

As for shipping damage, I sent a guitar to the USA to be painted like Van Halen's striped guitar. When it returned to me the package the neck was in was all torn up at one end. I opened the package and the paint on the end of the headstock was all chipped off. I was truly bummed, but it was definitely the post office's fault.

I guess we will see if the guy responds now. If he doesnt, keep the mooch. If he does have him ship you the $20 and whatever the shipping cost is and send the POS back to where it came from. Set a dead line of 2 weeks or so. If he doesnt respond by then go find some kid in the pool room who likes the game and give him the moochie. Let your first cue be somebody else's. Good karma all around.

I did a little snooping, and it seems AZ backed you more, since he stopped responding. He's got 1 red rep right now, and hasn't signed on for a while(March 29). He did actually hold up the deal though, and its the post office's fault. If you give the cue away, he's out the money and the cue. You were real honest for making this thread, but you should wait until he responds.

It's not like he got the $20 from you, paypal took it for fees and what not. Resolve this first, then give the cue away if you don't want it.

As far as I can tell, salam4 is either owed some money or a cue back.

I am not doing anything with the cue yet, I have sent emails to his personal addy and alls I can do now is wait for his response.


How long do I wait....What do I do if dude is just a complete no show...
I am not going to just send the cue back w/o getting the money I am owed. that would be robbing myself.....

I figure either he will respond and we will work something out.. or he wont.. in the latter case I will simply send some cash to his paypal and call it a day....

I am not going to hold his hand through this, he needs to own upand hammer out a deal with me... he didnt actually do anything wrong.. well besides the fact that he fell of the face of the earth..

I kinda like this idea, while I don't believe in karma it would still be a nice gesture. AND...AND, if life is anything like a Chuck Norris movie, the kid you give the stick to will save you from thugs some day

It might cost $12 USPS. Also he may wish to submit a damagee claim after he gets it back.

If he insured the cue with Post Office he should of got $$ for the loss, right???? I know I insure for a little extra, because if it's loss the crap I have to go through is worth something. Maybe he already collected Postal Insurance $$????

You asked for advice. Mine would be to not be a dick about the shipping cost. The guy mailed you the cue, he is out a cue and the cash for it. The Post Office screwed both of you. He is no doubt thinking you ripped him off and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't reply. Give him a few days to reply and then just mail it back to him.

This is exactly why I hesitate to do buy a cue on the internet. OK, the real reason is I'm broke but if I had money I would hesitate to buy a cue here.
 
The way I see it is this. If the guy didnt care about it when Smoke asked him repeatedly, didnt care about it when the original thread was posted, didnt care about it when PayPal ruled against him, and does not care about it two weeks or a month from now to respond to this thread I would say that this cue and this deal just does not mean much too him and therefore Smoke has wasted enough time on it and should do whatever the hell he wants with the golden moochie.

If the guy comes back in a reasonable time frame and asks for money or the cue then smack him on the pee pee for not communicating and do whatever he wants to put this sick ass horse of a deal out of its misery. If he doesnt then go give the cue away because Bigskyjake is right....you never know when you will be assaulted by black clad ninja's and need a young deadly karate master who is greatful for your kindness to come save you.
