Besides my own I really like my Aramith Tournament set. I also have Centennials but for some reason I like the Aramith slightly better, I think its because they stay cleaner a little longer after coming out of the polisher.

I like Centennials with the measles ball. I think the blue circle cue ball plays better, but everyone around here and the closest legit tournaments all use the measles ball, so that's what I use.

Voted Other. Hyatt Vitalite from the 1970s. These were made to the same specs at Albany Billiard Ball Company that made the Centennials for Brunswick marketing. This was before the whole production was moved to Belgium.

Very nice observation, those balls are a great set. They go thru a extensive polishing at the factory.

I've done some experiment with pool balls lately..they old schoo phenolic pool balls play much different than today's phenolic pool balls.
Anyone else play with a Hyatt set or change up sets often?

I have both Centennial and Aramith Tournament balls. While I like the classic design of the Centennials, I prefer playing with the Aramith Tournament balls. They stay clean much longer than the Centennials. I prefer the Tournament cueball as well. For whatever reason, I seem to be able to get more follow action on it.

Doesn't really matter what set, cleanliness of the balls is more important than what type.

Yea, I hate it when sweat and stuff gets on my balls.

I usually play at Drexeline, they've got the cleanest balls.

Centennials, matched and in great shape.

Something about this thread ain't right.

I've owned a set of everything out there at one time or another.

What I have now is a set of Brunswick Centennials from 1961 that I bought NIB
which are only used on very special occasions like
when I put out Clik chalk on my home table

and my daily playing set at home (and what I carry to the pool hall)
is a set of Aramith Duramith TV Tournament balls. They really are that good.

With either set I prefer the red circle cue ball
over the measle ball or the blue circle ball.

I like the tournament set as well. Bought it two or three years ago. Great set with classic appeal.

Fav. pool ball set & cue ball

When Cyclop balls came out, I got a set of "skittle balls" with a funky iridescent cue ball. I didn't like trying to guess which color was which ball, plus the cue ball nobody liked, including me. I then got a set of traditional Cyclop balls with a different (more normal color) cue ball. They played great and stayed shiny longer than any ball set I've ever had, (probably due to the set having more phenolic resin in them). I traded out the cue ball for an Aramith red circle cue ball and have played the set approximately 15 hours each week for months. This set IS the best set I've ever played with, (and cost less than the Brunswick Centennial set, the Aramith Tournament set or the Aramith Super Pro set).

Cyclop set is highly recommended !!!

Ivan Lee,
Why does the Cyclop ball set stay shiny much long than any of the Aramith top $$$ balls ? I have polished too many pool balls to know the difference in the finish and how long the shine lasts ! I still contend that the Cyclop balls have a superior finish to any Aramith balls !

I really hated the Cyclops "skittles" balls until I played with them at a tournament. I had wanted to get a Cyclops standard set for a little while but after playing with the "skittles" colors I am going to get "skittles" Cyclops to become more familiar with the colors. Besides, I already have 2 premium sets in classic colors, might as well try something different. FWIW I found absolutely nothing wrong with the way the Cyclops played, including the cue ball.
