I am just curious to hear some thoughts about Phillippi cues.
I understand that Richard Phillippi passed away (not sure when though), and that his son in law (Rick Chandler) now runs the cue shop.
I have known of Phillippi cues for as long as I can remember, going back to when I was a kid back in the 90's, but I am not sure how well known the cues are.
Also, they seemed to have always been a true custom cue maker, because their designs have been all over the place, from what I have seen, and some being very unique.
I had a very nice full splice, with veneers, wrapless cue, back in around 2008, and it was a very beautiful cue, but it had a very stiff hit, if that makes sense, from what I remember.
From my research, there is only one dealer that I know of, who is a reseller of his cues, and an official dealer, from what he says. And, he speaks very highly of Phillippi cues.
Anyways, I am just curious how well known Phillippi cues are, and would like to hear some opinions about the cues.
Would you compare them to any of the other top cue makers of today?
Thanks for any thoughts.
