What are your thoughts on using accelerator?

Do you guys use accelerator when installing tips? What are your thoughts?

I was talking to some local cue guys like myself and they were suggesting that the accelerator actually makes the glue brittle and could cause more glue failures then needed. I have had a couple tips come off here an there, less than 5%. But getting to less then 1% would be better. :smile:

I use accelerator, and do not find the issues mentioned.

I only use the kicker when I treat the glue side of the tip with thin CA........... sand the tip... apply thin CA.... dab off the excess.......... apply kicker.... lightly sand......... put it on the cue with CA gel..........
