What Break Cue to buy now?

I thought there were three generations, third made by Samsara. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not sure. But I have one made by Samsara, an X-347 that was marketed by Charlie Bryant after he was clocked at 34.7 mph. Thanks though, great stick!
:p

nice!

you know, now that I'm thinking about it Samsara is probably 3rd generation Richard made changes so my cues were 2nd & 3rd
cool thanks

Denali break cues

Here is a comment I received this morning from a player in Belgium that just
recieved a Denali breaker. Might just help you make a decision.

Hello Bob ,

got the cue yesterday and the cue looks fantastic .
In the evening i gave it a try and i can say i was impressed .
Hits way better then my BK2 and the cueball control is excellent .
If i knew 7 months earlier i would have bought also a playing cue from you
but back then i ordered
a Keith Josey that is coming my way in about two weeks time .
But maybe in the future who knows ?????

Thanks for a great breaker ,

Christoph

I've tried a BK2, and had a wood-to-wood jointed Dufferin for years, but my favorite so far is my McDermott NG05 with the Stinger shaft.

My vote goes to the stinger but if you like a long taper on your break cue give the orange crusher a try. The stinger feels VERY solid but has a conical taper so some may not like it.

Its between the Orange Crusher and the Mezz right now.

As far as the cues ive tried....really its only been the B2K, Schmelke, a few Bunjees, and some cheap sneaky petes.

Im having issues with the guy that I "sold" my BK2 to still. Hes been a long time friend, but still has yet to pay me a dime. I think ill be getting my BK2 back from him this week.

I forgot about this thread. I ended up getting a Tiger IceBreaker. Ive been breaking with it for about 4 months now and LOVE IT!

I have had many of the popular break cues that are mentioned in this thread and I can honestly say my friend just got a Viking Vcrush and it blows away any break cue I have ever hit with. I am in the process of selling my Mezz Power Break II to replace it with the Viking.

How much to do you want for the PB2?

Ok, I've had 6 break cues in the past year. I've tried everything from a Predator to a Bunjee to a Schmelke. ...

What would by fellow AZB brethren suggest?

I suggest you've supported the break cue market enough.

Maybe you should either break with your shooting cue or get a cue to your shooting cue's specifications and have a hard tip installed.

Freddie <~~~ breaks better with his shooting cue

{okay, I guess this advise is better suited to a newer post}

For the money, I couldn't be happier with mine:

I picked it up on sale for $85 over the holidays. I had one of the top players in the midwest try it out last week. His initial comment was that it felt heavy at the pin. After breaking several times with it he said he was very impressed, and liked it as well as his own. What he really paid attention to was where the cueball landed after the break, and he consistently drew it to the center of the table. Then he went ahead and ran two racks of 9-ball with that hard tip :)

Find someone who breaks well and ask them if they can teach you how to break.

Some people break well but can't teach you what they do.

I don't have a BreakRak device but I would bet that would be a GREAT device to use while learning good technique for breaking.

I have thought many times about purchasing a BreakRak but I think, I would not use it much after mastering the break. I guess I prefer to torture myself with inconsistent breaking. Actually, on the bar table, I have been getting excellent results. Big table, not so consistent.:p

Also, if you want to break well, you MUST learn how to rack well. It is a well defined art and you must put in effort to rack all of the balls tightly. If you're using the Magic Rack, tight isn't much of a problem, so you have to begin with a consistently tight rack.
