Are you telling me Mike made every Sledgehammer? You call the McDermott Sledge a cheap import, yet the cheap imports were Mike's doing. The only way to buy an American made Sledge are one of two ways. Shell out over $1K and get the custom, or buy the McD for $350. I'd just as soon save the $650 towards my player instead of having a $1K breaker.

Calling the McDermott a "knockoff" when they own the trademark is hilarious. Rep to you for being a comedian.

Dude WTF don't you understand about Mcdermott not being a choice...

The only Sledgehammers I have owned have been made by Mike Gulyassy, so that is what I listed...

What is available for sale today has nothing to do with this poll...

this list is pointless... the poll can't be changed...

So it really doesn't matter now does it?
 
I've been concentrating on one pocket for a year but I've got a 21 ounce ebony dufferein with the holly butterfly that i carry to break with in nine ball. But I break with my playing cue just as often as I use the Duff.
 
I have a sledgehammer, however I use my Predator playing cue 95% of the time to break with. Seems to hit very hard and controls the cueball.

My X-Breaker by Samsara is by far the best rack smasher I have owned in my forty four years of playing on the six pocket monster.:D :D
 
The original (apparently made in Asia?) Gulyassy Sledgehammer. Hits great, I think I'll keep it until it falls apart.

i basically have three break cues:

1) Cuetec butt with a custom break shaft. no way am i using those flimsy Cuetec SST/Thunderbolt/Python/Vortex shafts to break with. ok for playing, but not breaking.

2) Custom shaft Chad Carter made with phenolic tip/ferrule that fits a cheap sneaky pete.

3) Custom shaft Chad Carter made that fits my Nova, Jacoby, and Schon.

I break with my playing cue. I try to get the two outer balls in the last row to touch the cushions, one side cushion, and one bottom cushion, then roll back into the rack as the cue ball goes 4 rails to rest on the headrail. :D
 
I use a Jerico "whip" I believe it evolved into the Stinger. Whatever we call it... it absolutely SMASHES the rack
