what cue makers or brands have you owned?

I started with a Players and a Viper, then to Viking, McDermott, Meucii, Schon. Now I have a sweet TL custom one of one that I absolutely love. I could post some pictures of it later.

-My first cue ever was a plain maple McDermott, stained blue. I hated the way it looked though.
-My second cue was probably a Meucci. Hated the fishing rod shaft. Was probably an 80s model cue with clear coat over the wrap. Did not like it, did not keep it long.
-From there I owned several more McDermotts, a few more Meuccis, a couple of Vikings. I was buying them, cleaning them up and reselling them for a very small profit. I liked the Vikings the best of those 3 brands.
-Bought a SouthWest, it was unusual, 6 even points and a cork wrap. Liked the cork wrap. I liked the cue. I made some phone calls to verify if they ever actually made 6 pointers with even points...apparently they did a few. I sold it for a small profit. If I still had it today, I'm pretty sure it would be quite valuable. This was the most expensive/valuable cue I ever owned.
-Picked up a Pechauer once. Got it dirt cheap. Was a very nice cue. Everyone who tried it out wanted it. Sold it for a NICE profit.
-Picked up a Schon dirt cheap also. Gave it to my Dad for Christmas. He still plays with it daily. He fell in love with it. I kind of did too....still haven't found one for myself yet.
-Had a custom made by Stelzenmuller about 8 years ago. Still in my bag.
-Picked up a damaged SouthWest clone (the one in the classifieds) several years ago. Had it repaired, and fell in love with it. It's been in my bag ever since.
-Owned a few more cues in recent years, Viking, Jackson, etc. All eventually sold. The two I've kept just felt good in my hands. They weren't the most expensive, most ornate, etc.
-I'm now on the hunt for a traditional stainless jointed cue, like a Schon, etc. Nothing expensive.

Any more addicted to this "cue fetish" that seems to be spreading?
I've recently added a JIm Griffin,Kevin McClain, another Carmeli, and another Schon ltd. an OB and a couple of more McDermotts to the case, but they seem to find new homes faster than I can find my chalk!lol
I've been in the horsetrading mood these days for some reason-
Any one else get some good finds? I'm sure there's a ton since this wsa last updated.....;)

Oddly enough, I made up my list on a piece of paper a couple days ago. Not sure why...just something to pass the time, I guess. Below is a rundown of what I've owned over the past few years. Took me some time just to remember the cues themselves...and a bit more to put them (close) to alphabetical order. Like I said, though...I think I missed a few. :embarrassed2:

That list is a representation of how bad I had the "flipper" bug for a few years. I have, since those days, calmed WAY the hell down...and now I am focused on having a half dozen real nice players, and that's it. I can only play with one at a time, after all.

In no particular order....

McD
Joss
BCM
Dale Perry
John Guffey
Layani
DZ
Blackheart
Josey
Webb

Everyone has owned so many different cues. Did each one have an impact on your game, or are they just fun to collect?

Berlowmj: I have owned cues ive liked and purchased them on a basis of belief I could always recoup my investment should I decide to sell them. About half of them were built with wood that I supplied. I played my Gus for 16 years than kind of got a cue bug. I dont think any of them improved or hindered my game unless it was a bad tip. Of the cues I have owned the only two that didnt appeal to me hit wise were the Southwest and the Kiekel and I know people that swear by them, that is a personal opinion and no way a knock on the cues. I also wish I still had them all. Its kind of a catch 22 with cues, I actually believe that I should shoot with the same cue 98 percent if not all the time. Once my Searing gets here I very well may.

I have had McD Meucci but for the last 12 year its been a Schon and now I apperantly have a Karerra. But I think the best one I have had had to be a solid pine 13 or 14 oz. black cue with an 8ball on the side of it made by a guy by the name of Sir Elcheapo it played almost as good as a broom but when your a kid its the greatest cue ever made

Rick Howard x 9
Kenny Murrell x 4
Blackcreek x 2
Darrin Hill
Steve Klein
Sugartree
Bluegrass
Schon x 2
