Its kinda cheap but i have no job im olny 12 so like no more than $200.00

Mali, Joss, Mcdermott are what you will most likely find at your local pro shops. To begin with go with either one of those. You can learn and learn and learn with any of those cues, then once you have the paper and if you are still really into the game drop the money for a better wand.
I recommend you go to a local shop and buy one just so you make sure you like it before buying one off the net. Less expensive cues can be good or really really bad. Just dont buy a Players, please.

You are flirting with danger here, Banknfoo. Cues that retail below $200 are often poorly consturcted and don't last. If you're willing to go up to about $250, you can get a lower end Joss cue, a purchase you could be very proud of.

cue

Mcdermit makes a good cue for around $150 That will get you started. Once your game improves then upgrade.

Go really cheap, get a break/jump cue if possible. The thing is at 12 years old you are not going to get the cue you will use for the rest of your days. You are going to want something new and better before too long. Use to be able to buy Falcon break/jump cues that were a great deal, not sure if they are still the same quality they once were. You can get good deals on used cues in the pool halls, but as a 12 year old kid with limited knowledge that probably would not be the way to go.

Which city do you live in? This board has alot of really knowledgable and helpful people from all over the place, someone might know just where you should go to look at cues in your area. There are also some guys here that sell cues online pretty cheap, and they will make sure you are getting a straight cue and when they post WE will make sure you get a good deal. :D

Break/jump cue for a beginner? I hardly would recommend that. The only break/jump cue that I know of that makes a good playing cue is a Gilbert.

Very nice Mike.

I was thinking the same thing. 12 years old, new player. Best thing to do is get a low end sneaky pete. That way he doesnt have anything to lose if certain factors play in: a. Lose interest in game, b. Not take care of it, c. Lose a cue.

For your first one, learning how to play is as important as learning how to take care of a cue. You wouldnt want to spend a bunch of money, only to damage the cue by not taking care of it.

Very thoughtful. I have an extra sneaky laying around that hasn't been used in years that I probably would've done the same for, however it has my name engraved on a black buttcap.

Hey, wait a minute guys...maybe this 12 year old BEGINNER should start with a Predator--He might as well get used to a low squirt cue right off the bat. It seems that would shrink the learning curve.

Drivermaker, your turn...:)
