I am just getting back into pool aftermany years. I bought my first cue from Schon factory in 1982 when it was just a hole in the wall. Bob himself sold it to me and it was an R1 Braz. RW. Cue is long gone, but recently picked up a Schon LTD. Anyways here is my question. I just won this at 400.00 and am curious what you guys think. Full splice done the old way. I know something is worth what someone is willing to pay, but I am curious about value considering difficulty of making etc... I just cannot afford 3000.00 cues so I will be looking for deals on Joss, Schon etc... Here is link to cue. Thanks, and my feelings won't get hurt ever so bring it..................lol

What a great buy. The G-Core plays fantastic......SPF=randyg

How does the g-core stack up against the I-2 - the I-2 retails for $199 discounted - the price of the g-core is $119 . I played a rack with a viking cue fitted with Mcdermott I-2 and it played very well .

Welcome back to the grind. Have you considered Carolina custom cues? They make a great playing cue for the money. They should have something in your price range. Check with Duc Lam at custom cues & tips. He has a lot of cues and can make a really good deal for you.

I haven't played with the new G shaft but I play with an I-3 which I think is great. I like the 11.75mm diameter tip size - feels it gives me more control on where I hit te cue ball. I just recently sent the shaft back to McDermott for a cleaning and a new soft Moori tip. Since the shaft is under life-time warranty, the work (and the new tip) was done at no charge. I only had to pay $21.99 for shipping and handling charges. When I got the shaft back, it looked like brand new. Can't beat that with a stick.

Thanks. I am looking for used cues as they are the best deals I think. I like Schons, Joss, Schober etc... I will check out Carolina.
