A friend of mine wanted to open a pool room and call it "Studdering Bobs Billiards".
Do you think that would be a socially acceptable name ?
Just slightly better than stutterring boobs billiards. Keep working on a name.

Absolutely not. The name "Bob" is offensive to people suffering from dyslexia. I suppose the studderer offender Bob thinks that dyslexia is funny? How can you be sure that Bob is not boB?
May I suggest "Studdering Charlie Pull Hall" I see nothing wrong with that alternative and it's considtent in theme. Please show some sensitivity!

I only wish the people who have jokingly posted to this thread knew who they were offending. If anything, this thread should serve as sufficient evidence as to why it's a bad idea. Poolrooms (and most businesses for that matter) survive on maximizing their opportunities to make money. The name of your business should either have no impact or a positive impact on this. This proposed name, "Stuttering Bob", is taking a definite risk. You could be investing $10mm on the room, have the tables reclothed every Tuesday and have the lowest rates in the country and I can assure you, there will be people who will refuse to enter your establishment simply because of the name.
All I'm saying is, speech impediments are nothing to joke about. I wouldn't patronize a business that made idiots feel comfortable cracking jokes at the expense of MY FRIENDS. Just sayin'
Lighten up Francis. I'm fat and thats never kept me from going into Fat Bob's BBQ. If someone is that PC, maybe they shouldn't be going into a pool hall in the first place.
It's just semantics, I used to go in a place called "Peg Legs John's" and he did in fact have a wooden leg.I'm not trying to be PC. I'm talking about profit. I simply don't think a business name should offend anyone.
