What Do you think about Espiritu cues

> When I first met Russ,he was going around to tournaments and poolrooms selling his cues. His earliest cues looked a LOT like plain Meucci's,and played like a Meucci SHOULD,but with better materials. Not bad,but not great. About a year later,he showed up with some new ones. A friend bought a plain birdseye SS joint, and it hit VERY nice, similar to a late 80's Joss,or Schon. He had gotten away from the flat-faced joint by then, but was still using the 5/16-18 pin, then changed to a 14 a couple years later.

His 4 point cues are on par playability wise with SS joint Motteys,Scruggs, and McDaniels.

His finish work is top-shelf,and damn quick. A friend has sent him 2 cues for refins, and had both back in a week, both flawless.

He's a good guy to deal with, and honest.

Incidentally, the best break cue I've ever used was one of his,a pau ferro/maple house cue conversion with just a piloted phenolic collar,no collar on the shaft. With that cue,I couldn't do anything BUT squat the cue ball on the break. It belonged to someone else, and before I had a chance to buy it,it was broken in an accident with a drunk woman,LOL. Tommy D.

I had a nice Brazilian Rosewood cue of his. It played real well but the finish wasn't good. It had 5 brass rings in A thru E positions. C,D and E rings raised up a little from wood shrinkage. It played nice but was to heavy for me (19.9 oz.) I refinished it, put a leather wrap on and sold it when I was in Vegas.

My espiritu

Here r the pics of my Espiritu. Camera sucks so they dont show how nice this cue really is.

I Have owned a few of Russ's cues, and i think they are Fantastic.

Why is it when ever you are on Crunch time for money, Its always the cues that go First!

Would love to pick-up another one of his cues!

Steve

I bought a BEM cue from him in '05 at the US OPEN. I hassa G-10 pin and I couldnt ask for a better hit. I ended up leaving it in an ex g/f's closet, where Im sure it still sits because the bish wont give it back, HAHAHAHA!!!

Voodoo~~~wish I went to the DCC that year instead of Houston, Tx.

Umm...Hey Watchez...I wouldn't exactly say it's the only one you've ever saw...I've been shooting with one for about a year now...lol
Oh and for the record I really like it...solid hit, pretty evenly weighted, and I use a predator shaft with it.

Obviously you are correct. And yours is better looking than any of those posted here.

I don't even know where you bought yours??

New to this great site!! Being in the central Mississippi area, not far from where Russ lives, I own several Espiritus. The first is an early Plain jane smoke stained BEM "1993" when he was using the 5/16x18 joint pin- Fantastic hitting cue. The second is a fancier "1996" 4 point w/tombstone points 'tween the regular points, lots of ivory inlays, 5/16x14 pin, this one hits ok. The last two are southwest clones 3 high/3 low points with the radial pin (its either alumn. or steele and not brass joint pin) These hit "lights out" One of the clones is a 1 of 1 and stays locked in the gun safe, the other is in my case!! There are a LOT of Russ's cues around here, i'de say on league night, 1 out of every 5 cues is an Espiritu!! Can't go wrong with one of his cues!!
