Pool players probably come from all walk of life I'm guessing. When someone says they're a huge football fan, it gives you an impression about them. If someone says they're really into heavy metal, another impression.


I've been playing drums for about 20 years, guitar for about 15, and just recently started keyboard.
I ride a motorcycle when it's not freezing out.
I like to drink whiskey and scotch, smoke cigars and cigarettes.
I watch/follow most common sports: football, hockey, baseball, tennis, golf. Listen to sports radio for most of the day.
I'm not great at bowling but I like it.
I can do some bar tricks (like flipping bottles, spinning glasses, behind the back, etc).
I run my own business in the computer industry.
I like betting on horses, but I have a separate gambling fund for that.
Champagne on Sundays.
I like heavy metal just as much as I like classical. Just don't care for modern pop.

Sailing- just sold my 25' Macgregor and looking for a 30' or bigger boat.
classic cars - I have several
classical music to bad I cant play it in the bars I frequent my game my improve. LOL

Off and on, I enjoy weightlifting but recently have taken up running. I'm participating in my first half marathon this Spring. I smoked for 25 years so finishing the race will be a huge accomplishment for me.

As well, I'm married. My wife and I love spending time together with our two rescue dogs. We have a dachshund-mix and a pit bull and before you ask the question, they get along fine. The dachshund is the boss.

Ok, aside from pool, I fish and duck hunt with my son and also work.

Very active with my kids - all in their 20's right now
Many, many years teaching chess at a scholastic level
Have done a quite a bit of sailing (Sunfish, Lasers)
Play with photography off & on, especially macros and artistic FX
Online gamer, but not active at the moment
 
I live in Colorado so my summers aren't quite long enough but for 3-4 months I spend most all my free time at the lake wakeboarding, wake-surfing, tubing, drinking, and having fun with friends. We camp at the lake for the whole weekend and just have a great time. Aside from the lake:
Golf
Camping
Snowboarding
We go to Vegas 2-3 times per year.
Go on a vacation 1-2 times per year. A cruise or somewhere with a beach.
I like betting on sports
I go to many Broncos games
I have 2 pit bulls that I enjoy running & playing with
 
Play my guitars
Work, both full time and personal projects (tech + apps)
Spend time with my teen daughter and my wife
Play video games
Watch Pool on YouTube
 
I have a cue repair lathe and 2 splindle lathes. Took up pen turning. It is fun. A great hobby. The hardware is a kit. The body is hand turned and finished. I love those woods...and check out the Circuit Board Steam Punk Pen 2nd on right.
Love traditional and Latin jazz... No smooth stuff......and have a decent collection. Was into off road jeeps for while but sold them. Cars. Raced my Mustang for a short time. Had a Chevy SSR and enjoyed hanging out with a group of other SSR owners.
Enjoy helping friends and neighbors with small house projects and repairs.
If I could only have one hobby/interest it would be pool. The fun of the game. The equipment, the friendships made.

I've been a strip club DJ for 23yrs. Started at the proverbial hole-in-the-wall (Prime Time, Little Rock AR) and now at a quite grand establishment in Dallas known as The Lodge.

Obviously, I like music, with rock being my favorite. I also like EDM in its many varieties and real jazz (not Kenny G type stuff). I've also been a stereo equipment enthusiast.

I love to travel on my Yamaha V-twin, with a 3500 mile round trip being my biggest so far.

I ebb & flow on photography, love animals (2 dogs) and eating out. I also love a good woman, but I screwed things up with the one I had and a new one is proving hard to come by.

Trail cycling, as well. The DFW area has some great off-road bicycle trails.

Bunch a stuff !

I really like pool and have a nice old 9" Rebco table and nice Diviney cues. I am 65, retired, married for 40 years and have lived in Alaska for the last 50 years, so it is all I know.

Our winter starts in late October and runs into April, so having a pool table is a big plus. But, pool is a hobby for me and I try to keep it in perspective and by doing that it remains fun.

In the summer and fall millions of salmon and halibut are close to me so pool is not a priority then. The Alaskan out doors is a big, wild and free place and being inside playing pool takes a back seat to the wonderful opportunities summer and fall provides.

My hobbies and passions.

Regular church attendance
Shooting hand guns and rifles
Loading my own center fire ammo
Getting a bow for hunting !
Fishing
Hunting
Camping
ATV riding- no groomed trails in Alaska !
Bike riding
Walking Otto the Schnauzer
Watching movies on my big Samsung
Soft rock and some country - no foul mouth rap/hip hop and screaming heavy metal head banging crap.
Cooking
Home projects
Spending time with Grand kids
Enjoying travel and retirement with my wonderful wife !

Don't drink much or hang out in bars
Like a cigar couple times a week
Sex ? No ones damn business and can't imagine why any one would care !

For recreation I like to play golf, though due to a shoulder surgery I've played neither pool nor golf lately. :(

Collecting-wise aside from a small cue collection I have a modest number of decent watches.

I also enjoy travel, evening sunsets, and long walks on the beach. :p
 
I used to be a drummer! Back in the 90's was opening for bands like the Vince Neil band, Kilgore and such! I was diagnosed with bone cancer and had a tumor in my right arm which needed surgery!

After the surgery, I was never able to play again! I took up playing pool and became an awesome C player!

Although I gave up on pool because I've maxed out my potential, I enjoy target shooting and doing trigger jobs on various guns!

The greatest feeling in the world is to hit a soda can from 300 meters out:)

My pool days are pretty much over, I only enjoy things I can excel at! Once I reached the highest point of my ability in something I ask if I am happy with it. With pool, because my arm has certain limitations and pains, I can't get better, only worse. I just give up!

Sometimes it's not worth the pain!

But target shooting,,,,, now that's where its at!

As far as coming on here, I like to keep up a bit with the news and read.
 
I'm playing golf again and getting hooked on it. It's as addictive as pool, if not more so.
