What happened to Applespliter?

Anyone who's been following the Stanley/bark whoever saga probably noticed the applespliter who was obviously the same person. Made a bunch of posts recently and I saw that those posts are gone. Do the mods edit those or do they get deleted only by the poster....It's just a question of curiosity because I'm glad to see him gone...now if Ebay could get rid of him. I feel bad for the person who blindly buys that Black Boar.
 
looks like they been removed from the forum..

Banned users posts usually remain and the user only has access to
edit the post, not delete it. Barring the possibility that bark hacked
the site to delete his posts, the mods saw fit to remove his "contribution"
to the site.
I actually feel kind of sorry for him and have a buyer lined up but
he'll never get what he paid, unless he finds someone as misinformed
as himself.
 
he is back again.. using the name Brownstone400....

i believe the reason he is so hard to ban is that he is using dial up aol.. which would make a new ip adress everytime they connected...

In the old days of the internet, everyone posted under their real names and no further identification was required. These days, I think there is only one common way for the site to confirm automatically and on-line someone's identity with reasonable certainty.

You ducked the question. How do they verify who someone is? Reasonable certainty doesn't mean much if someone chooses to hide their id. I ran a political forum where some of the posters routinely used anonymizers and some pretty sophisiticated software to hide their id. As a site owner that was also a system engineer I never found a way to verify the id of any poster who really wanted to conceal theirs or ban anyone who really didn't want to be banned.

When my site was attacked I went over to the site that had organized the attack and simply lurked to monitor what was going on. Their admin couldn't detect who I was and put a bounty on my head for the first person that could ID or locate me. Dozens of hackers hammering on my security couldn't get past it and I could happily log onto his site whenever I chose, without being traced.

I could also proclaim my real name to be Humphrey J Reynolds on here, even create an account in that name and nobody would question that this was my real name, well except the local people that know my real name is Hu.

So once again, how do you verify real ID's?

The same way Paypal does it. It's not perfect, but it will catch the majority of people who don't want their posts associated with their real names.
 
how many sponsors and advertisers will AZB keep?

Bob,

How many advertisers and sponsors will AZB keep with less than ten percent of the members they have now? This site would dry up and blow away if they asked for bank account numbers for every member. They would also assume a huge liability and a real risk of lawsuits if their server was hacked and we have just seen how lawsuit shy they are.
