what happened to landon shuffet

Wow

I just wonder what he is up to now.

Lindenwood was established in 1827, so you've had plenty of time.
Doubtless, the first thing you would have learned, had you gone there, was to capitalize Lindenwood.

Wow 1827 uh boy i wish i would have new you could go to college for billiards, my grandfather owner of a small game room with couple tables when i was a kid i started playing pool around 11 years old.
By time i was 16 teen i was able to run out pretty consistent and by time i was 18 i was really strong player and getting burn out. I took a break but i sure wish i had someone tell me about that place.
Hell i went to a vocational school for welding and be came a pipe welder right out of high school.

You did fine. I'm sure your Grandfather has always been proud of you.
As a matter-of-fact, just talking about it kind of...excuse me for a moment...chokes me up because I'll never forget the last words my Grandfather ever said to me.
He was lying on his death bed with his family around him. He gazed about the room and when he saw me, weakly motioned for me to come closer to his bed.
I walked over and sat beside him. Tears were flowing down my cheeks. He looked at me for the longest time and then said, "Son, you ain't nothin' but bad luck."
It gets you right here, doesn't it?

Not only that, but as mentioned, Landon is a two time national collegiate champion, not to mention that he beat the pants off of Earl a couple years ago in MS. Isn't that pretty successful? It's too bad some people have to badmouth something they obviously don't know about. :boring2: CTE works for some and not so well for others. IMO, not much sense in talking down the great players it works for.

Stevie Moore ain't too shabby.

Unfortunately, he wasn't able to defend his two-time national collegiate title this weekend at the 2016 ACUI Collegiate 9-ball Championship as he is at his sister's wedding.

He is a great man focused on his life and education.

Amazing what passes for a man these days on college campuses, never the less, "a great man."

I'm sure he's a good kid... Lincoln was a great man.

I think Mark Wilson would disagree with you. However, my opinion of him is based on the fact that I have been around him and he is more of a gentleman than "men" twice his age.

You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?

tramp......i dont think so.....your worldy ways brought out the redneck inem!

isn't your job here to write awesome mostly false stories and to give everyone chit? lol

Who cares what Mark Wilson thinks?

Nice kid: Sure... Gentleman: Absolutely... Hardworking: Why not?... "Great man:" Sorry, but no.

Raise your bar. This is important.

Hey all!

I really appreciate all the kind comments I've seen on this thread for those of you wondering what I'm up to now. Yes, I'm mostly focused on school...but I am keeping my game up while I am there and I was just discussing this with dad not too long ago, but when I'm out of school and settled in, I can definitely see myself playing some bigger tournaments. Besides school and the billiards team, I put a lot of focus on my church's ministry and music! (I'm into a lot of things as you can tell lol.)

It is true I wasn't able to attend nationals this year but that's ok! I have one to two more years I believe (counting getting my master's degree). From what I can see on Facebook, it looks like Sharik Sayed and Tanner Nickels are battling it out for this year's national title...that's a great match up. Both fantastic players.

All the best to everyone,
Landon

Your focus is in the right place. Pool is a wonderful hobby and a hard way to make a living. Stay in school, do good.

landon
glad to hear you are making great life decisions
school should help you age gracefully have a better retirement more than pool will

Landon Shuffett is arguably the smartest professional pool player on the planet. At a relatively young age, he has decided that earning a college degree is more important than winning titles in pool.

He also believes that going to his sister's wedding is far more important than immortalizing his name in ACUI pocket billiard records.

I can only wonder where he got that kind of upbringing?

Props to Landon for leading by example.

THREAD HIJACK:

Sharik Sayed, came over all the way from Singapore, to attend LIndenwood University and won the national championship. That's freakin' impressive as pool scene is not that big in Singapore where Snooker is still probably the bigger billiard game.
