what hardness is an everest tip?

Info I have says 75.1 which is medium. Sniper is 66.9, Moori med is 74.2, Wizard med is 75.7 and Wizard hard is 80.3. A triangle is 81.4 which is hard. This info was covered in some earlier threads if you do a search for it.

There is no guarantee, some may measure medium, some may be very hard, and others will be soft. This is why it is important to check the hardness of tips before installation.
And that comes directly from Craig's girls.
I think it is safe to say that Everest tips are pretty hard. Leather is no exact science no matter how much glue they mix in. It is still a creatures skin, and no two animals have ever been the exact same until cloning. I would bet that the skin of two clones is still different when hung out and dried. Until they make a synthetic leather tip we are subject to that chaos.
Not to hijack the thread too much, but what kind of tips are your preference on masse cues? Hardness and brand.
Well I have to stick with what works for me. I use an everest tip for all masse bro...I can use others, thing is the everest flexed enough to take the impact without exploading...Other tips may grab the ball better for a while but the Everest is just plain more durable, and dependable.
I have a deal with Tony it has been going on for almost ten years... I won't lie. I made a deal with him in 2003 that I would never have to buy a tip again if I went on TV wearing his patch. I did a commercial with Mike Massey for CBS, I did wear his patch and he has gave me tips ever since. This proves he is no cheat, or rat...honest people over at Tiger. I don't have to say anything good today to still have our deal this is not part of it...
I have tried every tip out there I am still looking for the best tip...I used a few others last year still Everest...

To me the Everest is a perfect hardness, I used medium Tallismans for a long time till I bought 2 314-2 shafts. All I play with now and all I put on the cues I make is Everest, last year I tried the black Kamui's and those shafts sit in a case.--Leonard

I use a lot of different tips, one reason is because if I'm installing them, I want to be able to give my customers
the skinny on any of the tips I stock. I'm using a Kamui soft right now. Excellent tip but this one has been flattening out
every couple of nights. At this rate of reshaping it won't last long.
One thing I can tell you is that a Talisman soft won't flatten out like a Kamui soft will.

Everests are kind of a strange I think they play softer then they are. They grab the cueball alot so you get a nice firmness on center ball shots and alot or spin on offcenter shots. They take a little getting used too but are the best tip IMO. Since the old tin mooris aren't around anymore.
