I am looking at a couple of early gold crown 1 tables. 1 is a 9 foot table that has been remodeled. 1 is an 8 foot pro oversize. It is in original shape that has been owned by the same owner since new. Can you give me some numbers on what you think that these tables might be worth.

Mine were stamped onto the frame pieces and I think also on the rails, but I may be wrong about the rails. This prevents you from buying a table that is cobbled together from parts which may or may not go together, i.e. a Frankentable.

I got pretty much the same deal, entire Brunswick package that included the table and all the accessories that the original owner bought from his local Brunswick dealer when he bought the table new. Besides the table it included Centennials, rack, Brunswick brush in the original box, double sided floor standing Brunswick cue rack, 10 1 piece Brunswick cues, and a Willie Hoppe 2 piece Titlist. The cloth was replaced 1 time when the table was sold to another private residence in the mid 80's, then I found it in Dec of 2011 for the grand total of $300.00 I think that is a freakishly low price though, I have been offered twice that just for the cue rack, but its what the owner was asking, I wasnt even going to try to lowball him but there are deals to be found. Most importantly is trying to find a nice one.

Every thing that I have been seeing is way higher. I am looking at a 1 that is an 8 pro 1 owner that the guy said his pool table dealer said his table is a collectable and he will be able to get 5000.00 or better. Everyone that I have seen has been 4gs or more. And tables are not staying on Craigs list for very long. I thought I had found a gc4 that was a 1 owner. It was 1700 miles away. Got all of my ducks in a row and was talking to the guy about final preparations for the trip and he starts talking about how he's going to have to talk to his wife and I say I thought I would be dealing with you not your wife. An he says we will need money up front and I say sell it to someone else. So lost out on that one.
Where in the hell do you live that they're priced that high?...Canada?
Not exactly sure if that was an attempt at comedy, I reside in the Chicago area but have spent the last 3 months in Toronto and can say by comparison the eastern Canadian market is absolutely flooded with gold crowns to be had far cheaper than anything I see in Illinois .
If you are looking for a Pro-8 you may pay a slight premium, I dont see as many for sale as the 9' tables. Its hard to find someone that likes Gold Crowns more than I do but can the seller really be serious? $5k or more ??? Seller would be smart to take 1/2 that if he can get that much for it. As many Gold Crowns as there are out there its probably going to be at least another 5 decades before they will be a collectors item if ever, there were just so many made, and thats without even considering the replicas.It takes 3 things to be a "collectors item", age, rarity, and desirability, at this point in time I think a GC only fits into the old category. There was/is a black GC on Ebay for $10-$12k for at least 4 years now, it doesnt look like anyone is beating that guys door down to get that particular "collectors item"

I had someone contact me 2 weeks ago asking if I would be interested in selling the table and cue rack. I will counter offer, 1 updated GC1 or GC2 (still cant get a concrete answer on which I have) with matching double sided floor standing Brunswick cue rack for the low, low price of a Gold Crown 5, I like the way they look. Any takers??? I wont be holding my breath.:thumbup:
I bought a Gold Crown I in the fall. It had some bumps and bruises but was a complete and solid table that had been in a home since the seventies. It basically only needed cushions. Cost was $200 plus my cost to disassemble and move it.
I purchased my own Gold Crown I in 1995 for $1,500, probably more than it is worth in today's market.
I would definitely pay a premium for a pristine one owner table from a residential installation, but other than that, it is a buyer's market. I've actually seen ads for later Gold Crowns for free to anyone who would move it.

No I am pretty sure it's original and never been worked on at all.
If it's truly 1 owner and perfect condition, I would consider it. It may be a bit high but how long you wanna wait for another one in that condition?
