What is an acceptable time...

to wait before calling a deal bad and then going public with the details.
It is not a huge amount of money ($150) but it is the idea of getting ripped off by someone on this forum.
He received the money (USPS money order) last Saturday and since that time I have been trying to get a tracking number from the guy. He has stopped emailing and won't return phone calls. :frown:
I just want to know at what point I call this a lesson learned and move on to step two.
Any advice. I am very interested.

I would find out if the M/O had been cashed. If it has, I would politely send an e-mail informing him you are filing fraud charges with the US Postal Inspector and he will be receiving a visit from the Feds very soon. Then I would do just that.

WTF? FRAUD??

Chill, peeps. He received the MO last Saturday; Monday was a Federal Holiday (PO was closed); he's only had 4 business days to ship it.

Granted, that's not lightning-fast shipping, but it sure as hell doesn't constitute making this public - let alone threatening legal action.

I don't know EITHER party here, but this barely had time to get to the Buyer.
NO LAW has been broken here. Email and call him everyday. After 2-weeks, post his name to see if anyone knows what happened to him (at that point STILL no law would have been broken).

Far as you know, he's in the hospital.

AMEN.

If he's got time to cash a PMO.....he has time to notify buyer when he can expect delivery.

four days is plenty of time to expect a tracking #.

Hope all goes well but I would be concerned and confused as well.

Tommy,
I am in with Von on this , patience is not a waste of time.

Still no tracking number...

He is still not returning phone calls (I have left at least 5 messages asking for a call) or returning emails (again, I have left multiple emails asking for a response and stating my concern).
He did leave me two text messages.
1st stated he had been laid off. All I have to say to that is that you now have plenty of time to go down to the post office and send the cue. He had time enough to cash the money order!
2nd message said that I would receive the cue this coming Tuesday.
Okay...Tuesday it is.
At that point in time I think that it would be appropriate to move forward on this. I will begin with the name, address and phone number of the individual.
Lord Almighty, what a drag this is...

the guy would not want you to wait 4-5 days to ship the money order
with no word.(imo) i would notify the post office it takes a lot longer
to cash a money order than send a e-mail with tracking info. he
should have done both in one handy stop.mail your wares and cash
the money order. no excuses it is just good business policies.
any thing else is 99% lies.

TOMMY - WHAT IS YOUR E-BAY USER ID?

I WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE ON MY BLOCKED BIDDER LIST!

Are we there yet?

Some of you felt I should be patient and I was. And sure enough, I did finally hear from the person, who so willingly took my meager $150.
He wouldn't answer his phone but did email me so apologetically yesterday saying that today, FOR SURE, he would send off the cue and give me a tracking number. Today has come and gone and nothing from this individual. He still won't answer his phone (tragic isn't it when you are too ashamed and cowardly to even answer your phone) or my emails but I did notice that he had time to log on to the forum.
If there is no resolution on this by tomorrow morning I intend to post this person's:
Name:
Address:
AZ ID:
Personal email address:
Personal Phone number:

At which point I will invite each and every one of you that feels it appropriate to approach this individual in whatever manner you feel comfortable with and express your personal feelings about petty thievery and the people who feel so inclined. A phone call, a email, perhaps even a visit to his house.
Enough is certainly enough.

Well who is it?

So NOW I agree with you!

When you first posted, I didn't realize that he had already cashed the MO. Still wasn't really enuf time to be concerned with though.

But NOW, now he's showing those unmistakable signs of FLAKEDOM (of or pertaining to actions normally associated with being a FLAKE)

Maybe not a rip-off (yet), but certainly a lyin' azz FLAKE!

So being laid off is supposed to justify his keeping your cue and your money?

So by all means - SHARE HIS NAME/SCREEN NAME. Someone may vouch for him (it's happened) and it will also prevent anyone else from dealing with him for now.

Just what we need - another FLAKE on AZ

Soon we'll have to start a new thread:

"What is an acceptable time... to wait for the original poster to spill the beans after they promised to do so" :D :D :D
