Actually there is. Tough Tony Brewer, a top black bank pool player from Chicago used to be known as Snaggletooth Tony. Tony played good enough to barbeque Buddy Hall playing bankns in Chicago. We used to shorten it to "Snags."

I used to play Tony $10 banks/1 hole at a friend of mines pool room in Chicago Ridge. I told him ahead of time he was gonna win $30-40 as long as he helped me with some of the things I was doing wrong. He was very quiet most of the time, but when he did talk, I learned something every time. Wish I had my hands on his old SW sneaky pete.:(

Why wouldn't Bucktooth play a guy like me? I have been told that I CAN'T BEAT HIM, by someone who knows him REALLY WELL. I'm serious about that Doc. No smiley faces...

I know I could always count on you for a couple of thousand to loosen up those purse strings of the Tooth. That ought to be enough to interest his sweet tooth.

You play better than Bucktooth. I wouldn't guess he's the player he was even 10 years agoe. He knows all the moves, but in a quiet match you'd out shoot him. However he'd drive you crazy with his mouth, which you wouldn't stand for. If he'd shut up, I'd like your end of it.

I think it would take more than a couple thousand to whet the Tooth...:D

More than a couple of thousand a game to whet the Tooth? Geeze, I guess he is really out there. .... I don't believe it. I just don't believe it. He will play for 500 a game if he has a good game and the person that knows my game and knows his, says it would be a tough game for me and I would probably lose. How many games does the Tooth REALLY get? If he is betting more than a thousand a game I would say he isn't getting much action.

The tooth does not get into too much action his low limit used to be 1k a game but he is always high rolling. I thought I had him trapped once. I was in Vegas plaing cards and he was pulling his usual everyone is nits and we could retire if we beat him. Well one of the great unknown bankers (Gary Spaeth) happened to be in town for a team 8ball event. my friend and I gave gary a substanstal bankroll (15+ dimes) and snuck him in on the Tooth. Gary's forte was not to engage in Bucktooth style woofing, but Gary told him he would play but that he didn't play cheap. The tooth wanted weight (of course) and Gary countered with asking for weight also. After about an hour when no one knocked Gary they were going to play 1 hole for 2k a game. After Gary was ready to begin the tooth said he wouldn't play for less then 5k a game freeze up 4 games I nodded at Gary and then the ttoth said he wouldn't play unless Gary gave him 10-6 because anyone that will play 5k a game must be a champion. They never got down but in hindsight maybe 10-6 might have been a negoitition point and if we got to 9-7 it would have been stealing.

I know gary`s game and I know Toothie`s game.Toothie did NOT have a chance playing Gary 10-6. I would have backed Gary 10 dimes a game and I could high roll Toothie.:cool:
