I mean really, How you runnin buddy? Sent 3 items lately and here's the results..

Item #1.
Buyer refuses to pick up item or contact me (Situation just now resolved after contact from buyer finally)

Item #2.
Sold 3 shafts to jkmarshall_cues. I went an extra length on packaging the shafts as I always do and good thing I did. John receives box, Box is crushed and top torn off.. What the hell is that? Luckly the way I packed the shafts nothing happened to them.

Item #3.
Sold $1300 worth of cues. Decided to send by Express Mail on my dime instead of Priority as for that much money I want cues to arrive on time and safely. Checked tracking.... Here's the update I received..

Status: Missent

Your item was misrouted. The error has been corrected and every effort is being made to deliver it as soon as possible. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

How you runnin buddy?

Sorry if anyone has a complaint this is posted in the for sale section.

Figured since the items I'm speaking of were sold in this forum recently and many use the USPS to send with that it would be ok to speak on the service of them.

In the end is there really a service you can ship with and not have any problems? If so please do tell and I may just start using them..

Fedex usually goes fairly smooth. At least their tracking number shows you where your package is. That damn PO tracking number always has that "Information, if available, is updated every evening" and it doesn't show the check points. Bastards. Fedex is pricey though.

Hey Josh,
Everything I have shipped lately, I have used FedEx Overnight. Have had no problems with them so far. FedEx does not sell insurance, but they do have what they call a DECLARED VALUE. If the item you are shipping is over a certain "declared value" they will more than likely want to inspect the contents of the package prior to shipping. The last two Southwests I shipped, one to Chicago, only about 35 miles away, and one to Bradenton Fl. were both shipped FedEx Overnight with declared values of $1900 & $2300. Both cues were opened and inspected by FedEx employee in my presence. Not that they are going to know the value of the cue, but more I think just checking to make sure that if they are going to be on the hook for that much cash, they want to make sure there is something in the box, which is fine by me.

Like Mully said though, It can be a little costly.
The cue I shipped to Chicago (35 miles) was about $40  and the one that whent to Fl. was about $65  so you might want to take that into consideration when you sell.

Take it easy & good luck with your shipping woes.

Be sure to get your money back for those Express Mail items that were misrouted. They will refund in cash including insurance. Wait till the package shows that it has been delivered, take your receipt to the PO for your full refund.

Full refund? I was told by the lady at the post office that they will refund the difference and charge for Priority mail..

I also might add these were shipped on Friday and they said it would be delivered on Monday.. I thought Express was a 2 day shipping? Maybe the place it went to just doesn't run mail on Sunday?

That's BS Take your express shipping receipt to the post office and they should refund everything except insurance. This is what my post office did for me when delivery was delayed on one of my express packages.

Express Mail is 1 day in most cases but can be 2 days depending on the area and is signature required upon delivery. If you paid Express Mail rate and they do not deliver on time... then you have a full refund coming. If your receipt says Monday delivery and they deliver on Monday, then they have fulfilled their obligation and no refund is due. Also... there is no mail delivery on Sunday.

If I'm not mistaken some places deliver Express Mail on Sundays.. I would rather the package get there on Monday then have a refund coming.

Guess I'll find out what happens.

But you stated full refund and the other guy said refund minus insurance costs.

Lady at the post office told me they refund the difference and charge for Priority mail.

Wish I knew for sure how it worked.. Just to know..

Wow...sounds like you need to move. USPS around here has been wonderful. As I understand it, express is a full refund if it is not delivered on time. It's overnight to some areas and two-day to others....depending on the locations.

I have collected on several missed Express Mail Deliveries over the years and it has always been a FULL REFUND.

Shipping an Handling Problems

I've received at home hundreds of shipments via all carriers (usually via ground service). The last 2 weeks, the UPS driver dropped the package (at the door) 3 doors down from my house and the occupant was on vacation! That took a while to get to me! Last week, shipping a distance of 75 miles, FedEx Ground misrouted the shipment to Texas instead of Greensboro, NC. ...that took a while also. The point I'm making is, in my opinion, shipping service is getting worse, not better. The cue boxes are often gouged and abused, some partly open. I now require insurance on ALL shipments (at an extra, unforunate extra expense to my business).

The reason it says check later is because these package are being transported by FEDEDX who moves the express mail for the post office and we have to wait for them to move it,as far as missent, well its in there hands until it lands so it could be missent by them also:D :D
Your Bastard azer

FedEx Next Day..........

My cue maker friend has been using FedEx for many years without any issues. It's worth the extra dimes. He also ONLY ships next day due to the amount of time an expensive piece of lumber has to sit in a hot truck. Just factor the cost of next day into your sale. You will have many happy customers that won't mind spending a little extra for piece of mind and quick delivery of the product.

FED-EX~signature required, a little more $$ but it's worth the peace of mind! Best of luck!

I agree,I wish everyone would stop being such cheap bastards and use fedex to ship all there cues and such so we wouldn't have these issues.I cant understand how come we spend thousands on cues and then go to the walmart of the shipping industry and expect million dollar service.Comon, stop send all this crap thru the mail and step up to the plate and shell out just alittle more and give your penny pinching buyer the service they expect.
LOL:D

Oh Yeah, while were talking post office

Here are just a few of the things the postal service needs to do to improve service:

1. Stop all request for holding mail(let your neighbor take care of it instead of tying up window services and carrier time pulling it out and storing it while your off have a good time somewhere)
2.After 60 days we stop forwarding your mail for FREE and you do WTF your supose to do and fix your address instead of the postal service baby sitting your butt.
3.Deliver mail Monday-Friday and shut down the post office to save money...and I mean a TON of money. (no other mail service in the world does what we do)
4. Close all these little post office that lose millions every year just so little old grandma doesn't have to drive more than 2 miles to stand in line for a hour:D (everytime the post offices announces they are closing these little money holes some congressman jumps in and says you cant do that to my voters.)
5. Dont allow insurance on any fine collectable.jewerly,or any other object that value is speculative for more than 500 buck to limit out liability:D
6. Cancel customer pickup for free and charge like the rest.
7.You been scammed, call you local police instead of getting the inspection service involved.
8.STOP allowing check's to be picked up the beginning of the month and make all them money thursty customers wait like everyone else!
Just having fun here and these statements do not reflect the opions of THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE

No.
Shipments can get misrouted, delayed due to weather or equipment, etc and there are no guarantees
that your shipment will arrive alive and on time regardless of the carrier.

You will have less problems overall with FedEx or UPS and both carriers provide tracking data.
