I recently sent my Predator 314 shaft back to them, As I detected a crack in it, and was told by the local distibutor that it would be under warranty....

The shaft was barely a year old and had always been very well maintained with regular cleanings with the Q Clean, Q Smooth, Q Slick & Q glide...

I heard from the distributor this morning that it will NOT be covered by warranty as they state it "Had water damage", and that the glue they use to make the shafts is water soluable...

This is BS.... :( (Sorry for my frustration)

What do they figure, I put it in a tub of water.. The crack was only about 3" long....

Secondly, I have never put water on the cue....Why would I? The cleaning products I previously stated do a great job....

I am quite perturbed about this and wonder if anyone else has suggestions that I can use to remedy the problem....

I currently have 2 other Predator shafts, along with my BK2.....

Maybe I should just switch to Tiger Cues...

What are your thoughts....

Again, Sorry but this is BS

go to preadatorcues.com
Download the form for repairs and explain the crack (location, etc..) and send it to them.
Go directly to them, not a local distributor.
They will take care of you unless you have altered the shaft (turned it down, changed joint, or ferrule).
They are very easy to deal with.

Predator Cues

My predator 314 shaft is currently at the Predator Factory...

They are sending it back to me NOT FIXED... Stating it is not covered

That is one of the reasons I am so upset....

I am hoping someone from Predator may respond...

And am looking for great advise....

What would a Tiger Shaft cost?

Thanks

Shafts

Burn whose place down?

Universal Shaft for a Schon?

Please advise difference between Tiger & Universal....

I had heard that Tiger shafts were as good as the Predator shaft.

Is the Universal also comparable in quality? In cost?

hate to beat specifics out of you, but did you send it to a local distributor?

You posted that you sent it to a local distributor, they could be doing it to you.

Legal Remedies. Depending upon the state in which you reside, you may have additional remedies available under the applicable Commercial Code or Consumer Warranty laws.

ABUSE: Cues made of wood are not designed to withstand lateral pressure. Situations where a cue is leaning against a wall, dropped on the floor, bent while playing or hitting a table can damage the cue. We recommend protecting your cue with a hard case.

SHAFT MAINTENANCE: To clean a Predator shaft, use a towel slightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. To avoid damaging your Predator shaft do not sand it, no abrasive is necessary. Use a leather burnisher or similar material to seal the shaft after cleaning. Do not expose the shaft to excessive moisture and do not steam it to remove dings.

PREDATOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: If you have any questions or need any maintenance work done on your Predator product, use our Contact Us form or call customer service at 1-888-314-4111 or at 1-904-448-8748 for international callers, or e-mail us at customerservice@predatorcues.com.

Got a buddy at the pool room, SOLID Predator customer. Has been breaking ferrules on his BK2. Predator would not honor the warranty because he had changed the tip. Period. I am not impressed by what I have seen of their customer service. Saw one predator break just being dropped, in the middle of the handle. Both of these guys are still predator loyalists although the one of them has switched to Tiger to get his ferrules replaced, and broken two of them so far.

1. If you use any type of water soluble cleaning solution, regardless if it can be used on other shafts, you will damage your Predator shaft. That is a given. It's really obvious when someone used that type of product or gets a shaft wet, and that's why Predator would not warranty.

2. If a ferrule breaks, Predator will almost always warranty as long as there is no abuse. On a new BK2 shaft, if they retip AND REMOVE THE CABON FIBER PLATE, the warranty is voided. This is why they may not have repaired under warranty.

Both of these are clearly stated in the warranty. People assume that all shafts are the same, and have the same maintenance. There is a difference though and just as you do for other products you should always read the care instructions and warranty information.

Predator Shafts

I wish to thank TheBook, DaLion & PROG8R for suggesting I call Predator myself and not go on the word for the local distributor...

I did call Predator Customer Service @888-314-4111 and spoke to Darren who explained more fully the situation and why it wasnt covered under warranty...

I came to an excellent remedy to the problem with Darren's help....

Thanks to everyone concerned....
:) :D :D
