What is the AZ room and how do you Particapate?

I participate on this forum and am planning on going to the DCC next year, 2008.

I am not exactly clear about this and would like some info.

What is the room?

Who pays for it?

Who can participate?

Do we have to register in advance?

Any other info would be appreciated.

How about making a sticky about the room for 2008 and have a roll call on members participating?

The room was organized as a meeting/resting/socializing room for members of AZ and onepocket.org at the DCC for 2006. It turned out rather well and a couple of people helped organize it again for 2007. Thanks Willie and Timberly. All members of both boards were welcome to come and visit to meet other posters in person. To have playing privaledges on the 2 Diamond tables in our room, you had to contribute at least $25 toward the room by 12/15/06.
I would suggest if you plan to attend DCC in 08, to make a donation. It is really a great time to hang out and get to play people from the boards. Sam

But have you been in a coma or on vacation from the forum? This info and your requests had been going on for months prior to dcc and maintained by Timberly and I am sure will be done again in 2008. Just save up your 25 bucks.

Book-man,
Cool down the jets. EVERYONE is welcome in the AZB room (well at least we haven't had to ask anyone to leave yet). There will be info throughout the year (especially October and November). If you can't find it on the site, shoot me a PM in November and I will direct you to the appropriate info.

See you at DCC 2008.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I was asking a decent question and just wanted some info on how I could participate and contribute. I don't need to be insulted on this forum; I can go to a lot of other places for that. I apologize for not as smart as other people and just wanted a simple answer.

I am sorry you thought you were being insulted. I prefaced my post by saying I was not trying to be mean. I was trying to make a sarcastic statement jokingly. It is beyond my comprehenson that you could be a member of this forum since 2004, have over 1000 posts and not notice since October any information about the DCC room. I could not go this year and I knew about it. Being smart has nothing to do with it. And you did not ask a simple question, it was 4 of them which now takes multiple answers. Like Timberly said in this forum in the other thread you obviously did not see either, she had a hard time getting through to people even months in advance. Se la ve. Sorry . And it was not my room, I had nothing to do with it. But I will challenge you to a game next year.

In TheBook's defense; the multiple sub-forums have DEFINITELY made dissemination of info MUCH more difficult. The number of views of the DCC info were way below topics posted in the main forum. Just another drawback of the sub-forums.

We had a lot more trouble this year with people missing the AZB room info with it relegated to the DCC sub-forum. It was NOT just TheBook.

Big (or should I call you Mister Big),
We may take you up on that offer. I figure if we got you, JCIN, and Steve Lomako as official "room goons" (Steve's description of his position this year) then we would have NO misbehaving on the premises. :) You don't have to stay in the room; just be available in case disputes arise - I am not aware of any that occurred this year.

I know that I personally would not like to be on the bad side of either one of them. BN & JCIN are some big ass dudes and while Lomako isn't as big as they are, I know him well enough to know that I wouldn't want to be on his bad side either!

Last yr, most things were handled in the main forum. Sadly, there was still A LOT of stuff covered in the main forum this yr and it was still missed. All of the raffle stuff was in the main forum, and quite a few posts about the room too. I'm not picking on "TheBook" because it wasn't just him, but I can't help but wonder how it was missed. :confused:

I must have missed it originally as I wasn't planning on attending the Derby and didn't view this section.

I will be looking for it, and plan on participating and meeting everyone there next year and will take you up on that match you offered.
