what is the best tip pik ?

what are some opinions on what is the best tip pick and tip tool out there. I like the brass tip pik but the cap is a pain is the ass. are there any better designs out there. if so where can i get them, thanks Jim

i use the shadow tip pik, the needles are recessed so no cap needed. works well, i like it a lot

Forget the piks..... go Willard. You can scuff without take hardly any material off just like a tip pik. And you can shape the tip and/or grind the tip down thinner if you choose. The tip pik is a one trick pony.

I don't like the Shadow because you can not see as well what you are doing. It also gets pocket fuzz stuck to it. I perfer the original style.

I bought many shapers, picks, scrapers, etc.

Now all I use is a good hard tip like a Sniper and chalk.

One of my teammates asked me about replacing a tip. I told him that when I need a new tip I buy a new cue. A little bit of an exaggeration but my tips last a long time and hold their shape.

like the Shadow Tip Pik, and it fits on your keyring, so no more searching for it. But, you are not suppose to go at it like your digging for postholes, just so it will hold chalk better in the indentations.

Scuffers 'chew up' a tip, IMO. (Had a 1929 Brad scuffer for many years). And chewing them up on top changes the 'hardness' of a tip which affects certain shots on accuracy and with english.
