What is the closest an amateur level player has ever come to winning an event at DCC?

put the 9 on the spot alternate break, break box and amateurs will enjoy and do a lot better at events like DCC.

Can I thank you for participating in the forum? It's so sad to not see other great players like you here and your input is greatly appreciated. We don't say it often, but I'm sure others feel the same way I do.

Really comes down to how good of amateur we are talking about.
There are a lot of really good shortstops that aren't PRO's that are very capable of beating the top guys in a short set on occasions. So, the right draw and having a stellar set here or there could bring an amateur up close to the top.

I'm just an OK player and in the 2008 Derby City 9ball I beat Niels Feijen in something like the 7th or 8th round. Niels was the defending Champ for 2007.
In a race to 7 anything is possible. But, Beating one champ after the next is highly doubtful.
Best,
Ken

Really good post, Ken......very accurate imo.
