Surfing and hit the Syberts Web-Site, and now I see there are (2) Kamui Pool Chalks!

So has any one done a test of Kamui 0.98 verses Kamui 1.21 Pool Chalk, and can tell me the difference?

OK so straight off Kamui's website...

0.98 - Giving the player the best possible friction while maximizing the sweet spot on the cue ball. More adhesion allows the chalk to stay on the cue tip longer.

1.21 - Improved longevity, with a harder compound, to give the player more confidence with a Pre- Shot routine. Reduced compound transfer to the cue ball.

Now I wonder what the NEXT GENERATION will be CALLED MASTER BLUE? I have hit a few ball with the O.98, and it is Super Chalk.

Even if one is better than the other, every player should carry both versions.
Make sure you are using the correct 30-dollar piece of chalk for each situation.
If I'm thinking and chalking I would have to use the 1.21.
If I get into a rhythm and want to shoot several shots without chalking, I switch to the .98.

Does anybody have information on which 30-dollar piece of chalk works better on a jump cue, break cue,
and jump-break cue?
I hope there is an easy way to identify them.

That sounds like a $30 cube of blue diamond...

I have used Blue Diamond, and the Kamui 0.98, and the Kamui is Superior IMHO & DESERVES THIN----->>>>>>>

Yeah, but I specifically quoted the 1.21 Kamui.

I have no doubt that a softer more adhesive chalk like Kamui .98 increases the ability to spin the ball and reduces miscues.

But when Kamui bring out a harder chalk that is less adhesive and "lasts longer" they are basically doing exactly the opposite of what Kamui Chalk was all about, they stepped back towards the other brands with this 1.21 chalk and lost the whole point of what was good about Kamui .98.

And this quote sums it up in a nutshell. It is totally a backwards way of marketing to go in the complete opposite direction of your first product and put yourself back amongst the line of just being a normal piece of chalk.Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!

they made the 1.21 for the guys who like to chalk before every shot and the .98 is for guys who do not want to chalk as often.

.23 LOL Sorry I couldn`t resist

Oh crap. Now you see where English was my more gooder subject and I sucked at math. And I use calipers everyday in the shop. I now have to hang my head in shame.

I took .2 from .21 and added that to .98 to make it 1. and came up with 1.19. See, it is all very obvious now.

If this is true and the price is still close to being the same why not just grab a piece of blue diamond or masters if your going to chalk after each shot.I thought the whole hype with Kamui was not chalking after each shot?I'm not even sure why I even care about it,but it just seemed dumb to me:smile:

LOL,
We have all had those days,Don`t feel bad.

Longevity

0.98 last longer, 1.21 is more gritty, where 0.98 is tacky..
With 0.98, you only have to chalk your tip every 2 or 3 racks, with 1.21 you'll chalk every 2 shots..

If you must spend $30 on a solitaire piece of chalk ,be sure to get 0.98.

I agree. I tried the 1.21 and didn't like it. I like my masters, never failed me.
