Or perhaps its the only way they can fit a little bit of Pool into there work day and make most of their posts from work since most of there time off is shooting. A lot of posts can be made in 8 hourscheesemouse said:that point being when more time is spend at your computer terminal then actually hitting pool balls, are no longer improving their pool games...

I use this forum to learn about all aspects of pool, be it the mental game, strategy, tips on books, tapes, schools, cue care, to socialize with fellow pool enthusiasts, to learn about pro events (I would have NEVER known about the 14.1 Worlds in New Brunswick without this forum) and just about anything else related to billiards.
Hope this helps!

Also, it's used for talk of anything Pool related (ie. Past events, upcoming events, experiences with pros, sharing you own run outs and victories, tournament experience, help regarding a shot... etc etc etc)

First timers/lurkers are here for many reasons. They may have stumbled here, referred, googled, and perhaps pleasantly surprised to be here. First timers ask old questions and mostly are treated gently with their initial questions answered and then directed how to use the archives.
Those that stay and participate beyond three weeks find a way to enjoy the give and take in hopes of improving there pool games.
Those that stay and post/respond beyond the point of diminishing returns, that point being when more time is spend at your computer terminal then actually hitting pool balls, are no longer improving their pool games. These long termers have to know this is a fact.
"What is the purpose of this forum?" This forum is whatever you make it. For some it is a useful tool, for others it is a trap, and to some it is a nice place and a friendly community where they can enjoy communications with like minded folks.
I find it interesting that the gatekeeper finds this question non-pool related...I think I'll go hit some balls...LOL
