What is this cue? ($9k+ on eBay)

Unknown cue

That's a lot of money to pay for a cue based on those poor pictures and taking a chance that it might be one of the high dollar collectables......

It looks like a Bushka,, but the shafts look very clean at the joint end. I hope the buyer knows what he is buying. Ill bet the seller is elated.

IT'S A RICHARD BLACK PINNACLE. MADE BETWEEN 83 AND 85. HE MADE ABOUT 39 OF THESE CUES. IT WAS HIS WIFE'S FAVORITE DESIGN, SO HE BUILT THEM AS A LIMITED EDITION TRBUTE. IT'S THE CUE IN THE MIDDLE. EVEN HAS A BROWN BUSHKA-LIKE BUMPER

GOOD WORK !!!

If he played in the MLB...

It would have been a bargain as a 9600 dollar strikeout.

THANKS....THAT'S A PICTURE OF SOME OF THE RICHARDS BLACKS I'VE HAD.

I HAVE NO DOUBT WHAT THAT CUE IS. I HAD SEVERAL PINNACLE'S. THEY WERE/ARE MY FAVORITE BLACK CUE.

It is a Balabushka design. The winning bidder probably saw that design in the Blue Book, and thinks he is getting a $25K cue for $9,600.

Unfortunately, he has overpaid for a Richard Black Pinnacle. Nice cue though.

Who says the market is down?!?!?!?!

9600 for a Black Pinnacle...

You'd have to be real gullible, get bad cue advice or race nascar.. or maybe all of the above... to do something like this.

I like the cue, just not 10k worth...

JV (---just saying..

Fast N Loose,
I really don't think it is like the Richard Black in your picture. If you look closely the points in your picture touch at the bottom where they meet the wrap and the one's in the Ebay auction do not touch at the bottom.

I know I'm probably about to start another s_ _ _storm here but, $9,600 for a Richard Black Pinnacle???

I wouldn't even pay $960 for that cue! I mean, its attractive and all, but let's face it! Its a Richard Black!!!

I can see your point. But that does not mean that Richard built them all exact. That one in Marcus's pics may have been made a little different. However, Mabye that is Richards copy to the real thing. That is likely also. I will say that I am sure if that money is real somebody knew what they were buying for 9,600... I believe the cue is a real Bushka...

DAVE,

NOT ALL OF RICHARDS POINTS TOUCH AT THE BOTTOM. I HAD ANOTHER PINNACLE WHERE THEY DID NOT TOUCH, BUT I CAN'T FIND THOSE PICTURES. LOOK AT THE BLANK ON THE SECOND CUE FROM THE TOP IN MY PICTURE. RICHARD CAN'T BUILD THE SAME CUE TWICE. NONE OF HIS BLANKS EVER LOOKED THE SAME. I HAD 10-12 BUSHKA MODEL BLACKS AND THEY ALL HAD DIFFERENT SPACING AND POINT HEIGHT.

I'VE BEEN WRONG BEFORE, SO THERE IS NO NEED TO BELIEVE ME. I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP, AND PROVIDE EVIDENCE.

Hi Marcus,
Don't get me wrong . I was not saying I didn't believe you. I was only stating that I noticed a difference in your picture and the cue on Ebay. That's all. I know you were only trying to help. I've been wrong before also. I was only pointing out what I saw in the pictures. No one really knows who made that cue from only seeing the pictures and the pictures are not that good either. Please don't get me wrong. I was only offering a point of view.

NO PROBLEM....

I KNOW THE EBAY PICS AREN'T THE BEST, BUT I'VE HAD ENOUGHOF RICHARDS CUES, AND ENOUGH PINNACLE, TO FEEL VERY CONFIDENT ABOUT WHAT THAT CUE IS.

P.S. IT'S NICE TO SEE THE CUE MARKET PICKING BACK UP. IF THIS BLACK BRINGS 9.6K, IMAGINE WHAT A NICE CUE IS WORTH...LOL.
