what is this??

neat, i've seen someone do whole ferrules from bullet proof inch thick acrylic material... clear ferrules Ha

Looks like the tip isn't attached at the upper edge.

Whats the purpose of this? How does it hit?

The tip is attached just fine.......... the ferrule is dbl black linen and it hits very hard.

Be assured that, just like the Kamui clear, it serves no actual purpose.... but it looks cool....

tips

it serves a purpose...it makes the gullible public who fall under the spell of the marketing mavens want some more...... and not care what they pay for it.. Ive installed 2 and got $50 bucks for the one install.. I did it just to see if he would pay it and he did--- I did it as a bet from a friend who said nobody would pay $50 bucks for a tip---I gave the kid $15 bucks back later after my friend paid me ....... I charged 35 for the install which I thought was good since my installs include -shaft cleaning --sealing and waxing --same for the ferrules and I paid $15.30 for the clear from atlas.

I think this is a very good thread. I don't care what a Cue repair person charges to install an UltraSkin, I care about the guy installing.

Many years ago I traveled to some tournaments to do Tips and Ferrules. Some were good, others, a complete bust. I however needed to have many tips and hardness with me.

In todays market I figured on Layered tips if you needed to bring 10 of each hardness with you (Layered) and had to pay $15.00 up your lay out would be $600.00 plus gas, Hotel Room etc. On a bust tournament this could put a hurting on a family for that week.

With my tip and hopeful quality your lay out for same is $120.00 which even at a bust tournament your break even comes a lot faster.

End of story is many players have used the UltraSkin and at a tournament if they ask for it and you have it they will pay $40.00 installed. Mean while I will continue and in the last year and 1/2 you have not seen demanded price increases.

I thank everyone for all the support given and hope you will continue to give me input on any way I can be better for you. Thanks
