I have a number of training aids and I was wondering what is your favorite piece of HARDWARE? You know like Elephant Balls Practice Balls, Practice Pro Pocket Reducers or Joe Tucker aim by numbers ball set. My all time favorites that I used over and over and they just never get old are.

Charley Bond's BreakRAK and Doug Carter's Stroke Trainer.

Please no bashing.

A few years ago, when I was learning spin and english, I learned a lot from the Rempe Training Cue Ball.

My current inventory of training aids
1. Donuts, aka Reinforcement Labels, Avery stock 06002

2. A small laser to align the donuts. I'm fond of the Black and Decker Bullet Laser level, its small enough to fit in the accessory pouch.

3. Cue Track stroke trainer. I don't have a pool table at home, so mine is set up on an ironing board so I can fix my habit of poking the ball, opposed to stroking.

4. A video camera and tripod

PepsiCola hits the spot , 12 full ounces , that's a lot !

The greatest stroke trainer ever , the empty soda bottle !
No pool table required , set it on any tabletop , and get in a few hundred practice strokes without touching the sides ! The greatest bargain in pool , and you can return it for the deposit* when you're done !

legal notice : not all states offer and/or honor deposits . Some states allow you to randomly discard recyclable materials , without regard for the environment . Management does not endorse or recommend transporting large quantities of deposit bottles from $0.05 states to $0.10 states in order to profit on the bottles . Remember , the fine for open container in a motor vehicle is $500 , the fine for littering is only $250 , but you will lose the $0,05 deposit on the bottle . Use this information at your own best discretion , and conduct yourself accordingly .

Napkins

I'm big on napkin drills right now. It's been a very enlightening experience. Granted, there are two type of napkin drills; one you use the napkin for clean up, the other for position. Well...I enjoy both, but never at the same time :D

I use a cheap laser line level that cost about $14. Can get them at HD or Lowes.

Use it for stroke training. Lining up balls. Setting the hole reinforcements. Checking the spots and rail targets. Marking the aim spot on the OB.

Also use it to check out the aiming systems. It is amazing how this shows that many of those systems are BS.

1. Measles cue ball. I don't do anything special with it; just use it. Knowledge happens.

2. What Neil said: pay attention. I'd add: predict what will happen; pay attention to what does happen.

Hole reinforcers combined with light colored chalk on dark cloth

hit the same shot 15 times or so and you can draw the lines on your table using the balls... stroke line, tangent line, and center of the ghostball appear right before your eyes.

Without question,,, the nine foot diamond pool table in my garage has been the best training aid I have purchased

Hands Down

The Break Rak is the single greatest tool on the market today that can help you improve one part of your game specifically...

the breakrak is the greatest aid i have purchased

you learn a lot using that for 3 hours. My break went from being very inconsistent to know knowing the proper form and able to squat the white in the middle.
