just picked up this table, hope its a nice one! going with new rails, dont know which ones yet, and thinking about a camel colored felt, also not sure on what type. going to be used for recreation in the basement! any clue what kind of table this is? i have talked to a few restoration guys and all say is 100+ years old. p.s. was $700 :)

if it plays well now before you do anything to it, 700 is very good. congrats

make sure whoever does your work KNOWS what they are doing

sweet

Was the nameplate replaced? There is a rectangular border around the nameplate. Quarter sawn oak is just so nice. The cue racks.for.this table will cost.more than 700. Can you say SCORE!

yes, the guy i bought it from put that tag on there. im trying to identify the table so i can put the correct name plates on the table. he said the originals have been off for a long time.

the table would play fine as is but there was 1 little dead spot in the rail and the felt had been neglected for too long. still on the ladder about what color felt to use!

It's been pieced together, the rail bolt pattern don't match the slate bolt pattern, you can see on the side rails where the rail bolt holes were redrilled and moved over in order to mount the rails to the slates.

i agree about the bolts, however the slate, rails, and frame all have the same serial numbers stamped on them... so i dunno. My plan was to buy the bigger rosettes that are 2 peace and triangular to cover the patches. the patches are not on every rail though which i though was interesting. after more measuring the rails on the 4' ends of the table used to have 3 rosettes every 14 inches, now they are 4 every 10inches...however the ramining rails have 3 rosettes per rail at 14inches. Also the sights are round on this table, and some are ivory and some a pearl. jeeeez louise!
I measured the name plate imprint on the rails and this is what i found. The only one even available in that size. going to research some more before i buy them to make sure though. maybe this will help ID the table?

Back in the day, table mechanics used to exchange the name plate to one that had the name of their company on it.

wow, ok so there is no telling what kind of table i have, and if my table is blotched together is it worthless (value wise)? Wont really matter to me because im going to play it often and im sure scuff or spill something on it or whatever.

If it hasn't been removed, there may be a stenciled name under the table on either the head or foot part of the base, just under where the slate sits. My 1931 Harrison model has that

I can swear I saw this table or one very similar to it a few months ago on the forum here, but there was only 1 or 2 pics of it. I believe the poster was also asking what kind it was... Is this the same table? If not, maybe that other thread can help you. Sorry, I don't recall where the thread was, but maybe another member here does...

Good luck.
