All "rankings" are based on varying, and many times, non-standard data, even everyone's precious fargorating lol.
Mike Page's Fargorate Top 100 World Lists leave out most of the established Asians, for example, "due to recent inactivity".
Trust me when I tell you, there are a f-ton of 750+ fargorate-capable men's players on this planet not included in Page's rankings/lists.
And the women's side is missing most of the world's top 50 players (Asians). Siming Chen says "hi" btw.

Yes, shocking she's not found in the WPA men's rankings. She is, however, found in the WPA women's rankings.
Actually, that's pre-European Open, and today, WPA rankings have Albin as #2 and Mika as #5. Mika, by the way, has been playing better of late than he has in quite a while.
In fact, however, and we've touched on this before on the forum, the WPA rankings have become a total joke. It's partly to do with the inclusion of these oddball "race-to-four with shootout" ten ball tourneys that many of the most elite refuse to play in, and it's also in part due to the number of Asian superstars still grounded by COVID without a fair opportunity to earn ranking points.
The only set of rankings that does a decent job of measuring recent accomplishments in pool right now is the Matchroom nine ball rankings. and, because they are fairly new, even their rankings don't give as accurate an assessment of a player's skill level as Fargo Rate. I believe that, over time, nearly all of the elite (including the Asians) will play the full Matchroom tour and, once that happens, the Matchroom rankings will be absolutely definitive.

The Chinese players have had the worst of it with respect to COVID. Their four highest profile players are Siming Chen, Han Yu, Wu Jiaqing and Liu Haitao and all four have been missing in action for a couple of years from the world's most prestigious events. It's quite likely they still play in China.

Wait, is she a man? If it's men's rankings, then how would she be there? Now, if there were listed just a top 100 in the world, then she absolutely should be included.

edit: Actually, fargorate top 100 is a generalized top 100, but siming chen and a few other females aren't in ANY of the rankings because of having too few recent matches. If you look, you'll see that the highest rated female player is lower than the lowest rated player in the top 100. That would be Kelly Fisher at 762 while the lowest top 100 world is 765.

Fargo is not a "ranking" system like how WPA does it with points, it's a skill rating system based on performance against other players. If you play in a tournament that repots results to Fargo, it's in there. If those Asians you don't see in there have not played in an event that was put in, it won't be in the "Top X list". They are still in the system, you just need to look up the name for whoever you don't see directly by name.
