Newman wasn't dressed like that down the basement and that other guy doesn't look like the guy he played to me. Maybe it was a cut scene from the Hustler? Intresting. Johnnyt

The guy on the left is Paul Newman.

Maybe the guy on the right.

No, I don't think that's Redford.

Johnnyt, you are partially right. It is not from The Hustler and I believe it is from a cut scene.

Partially right? Is that like being half ass? Lol. Johnnyt

Are you sure it is from a movie? It could just be an old photograph.

Movies are shot in widescreen, and this has portrait dimentions

where did you get the pic from?

the answer is.......

This is from a movie called. "The Young Philadelphians"..........

Pictured is a wealthy owner of an Attorney's Firm who will invite Paul Newman, (an aspiring lawyer) into his firm because Paul Newman has just jumped into a freezing pond and saved his grandson, who fell through the ice.........very good movie......they just don't make 'em like this anymore...

Never could make it through that movie, but I do remember Newman saving the kid who fell through the ice and the eternal gratitude it earned him.

We do have a winner. I have never seen the movie. Wahcheck do you remember if this scene was cut from the movie?

I picked up this still about 15 years ago while collecting movie memorabilia showing pool scenes.

thats the right call, that pic is WAY older than ???(my memory is bad tonight), he wasnt born when that pic was taken, neither was newman.

then again i could be wrong, it sure looks and feels older, and the guy on the left looks real stocky to be Newman accounting for the Tux

6 degrees of Kevin Bacon

1. Paul Newman was in "Color of Money" with Tom Cruise.

2. Tom Cruise was in "A Few Good Men" with Kevin Bacon.

That one was too easy.

it's been a while

I can't remember them playing billiards, but this scene would have had to been after he saved the grandson and this is the wealthy grandfather meeting and talking to Paul Newman about his future in the field of law and subsequently offering him a position in his law firm......

Look for the movie as it comes out from time to time; the theme is about how a man decides on moral values and love over money and material gain......his shallow and greedy wife in the movie is played by his real-life wife, Joanne Woodward...
