what not to do as a newb cue builder

Smart would infer intelligence, which I have very little of. What I do have is a lot of experience being f*cked by bullshitters & liars, and the only way to learn was to step back, observe, and pattern their behavior so I can see them coming next time. They come & go, i'm still here. I wouldn't trade experience for intelligence any day.

Wouldn't observing and pattering also infer intelligence?

okay. How about this

When someone else repairs one of your crappy cues that you messed up and sands the joint down to expose the Sharpie billets, don't try to scream "It's a conspiracy! They did this and set me up!"

Your Cue Shop is not the local Gas Station or Barber Shop from the Old Andy Griffith show.

The words old friend, favor and free are not a part of what you do to make a living.

Yes if you turn that machine on you will probably get hurt, if the machine does not do it I will.

No, I have no idea what this equipment or wood cost me, it was here when I got the place.

No you can't use my computer to look at Porn sites and yes if you mess with my macro calls and G codes I will hurt you very bad.

Yes that piece of wood is over 50 years old, no I was not planning on throwing it away.

I get paid the same amount you do to BS in my shop, I am sorry your not working but apperantly you don't feel the same towards me.

Yes I understand you didn't know I just sprayed that cue but why did you touch the other 3 wet ones as well?

Naw, no problem knocking that cue over its 50 years old made by some guy named George that a very big customer dropped off, not like it was new or something.

Can I offer to buy you lunch in another city by yourself?

I'll just continue to lurk....until I know enough to become dangerous then I'll have to ask questions...although if you search archives 9 out of ten it's all there.
