I imagine that with Scale, you are also using a Scale 4 Stroke reciprocating engine in many of your planes.

I forget from my RC days but maybe you can give the members an idea of what a 4 Stroke reciprocating engine is worth.

Sticker shock it is.

I like to play card games as a hobby (poker, pot limit o8, pitch, cribbage, spades, hearts, pinochle, speed, skip bo, and others). I also do a lot of gaming (mostly PS3/PS4, but occasionally bust out the NES/SNES). I wish I played poker as well as I play pool, and then I also wish I played pool as well as I play a couple of video games sigh...talk about having the skills reversed on what I want!

The games I do the best at are SNES Mario Kart, arcade Ms. Pacman (frosty can vouch for this), and Killer Instinct 1 and Killer Instinct 2 (Richardson on here can vouch for KI 1 at least).

In terms of hobbies I would like to try something new but haven't made up my mind yet TBD since I am unsure if I want to play pool on a more serious note again or just recreational.

BlueHog, That biplane is 1/3d scale and yes the engine is a fourstroke on gas. It's 215cc 5 cylinder radial.
Yeh, I've got more than 12k tied up in it....about 4 for the motor. Serious dough yes but how I got it you'll find interesting.
In the 60's and 70's I collected, traded and restored anitque motorcycles. There were plenty of barn finds around for cheap and parts weren't hard to come by. Long story short....a '51 Indian chief bought and restored for 5k. a '23 HD with sidecar finished up for 8k and a '65 HD pan as original and near perfect for 9k I made over 100k when I sold just those three.
I didn't have ANY disposable income back then either but with the sales funds I boought my wife a piece of jewelry and me that (engine) piece of jewelry. The rest went into my kids college fund. Mitch

Picked up a guitar three years ago and even though I stink at it I'm hooked. Wish I hadn't wasted all that time in school playing football, baseball and other sports and had concentrated on learning to play the six string.
I'm also into golf and of course firearms.

Im 41...been playing guitar since 13, bass, piano, drums....any instrument really....I love making music... Video games, mountain biking, chess, poker,....

A lot more....but those are my daily and/or weekly activities...

Pool daily........(table at home)

I do RC planes too, or did until January. Just no time right now. 3DHS represent!

Also, play guitar along with the bluegrass stuff (rock, jazz, blues, etc).

I wish I hadn't spent all that time in school playing music and had picked up sports. At least I wouldn't be as fat right now!

My wife says I am only allowed one hobby at a time. Trust me, it is better this way. Prior to going overboard in pool my hobbies were wine collecting and an insane live music collection. 10s of thousands of hours of live music. Everything from Miles Davis to Bob Dylan. Metallica to Men at work. Johnny Cash to Frente. Marley to the Association. Buddy Holly to Beth Orton.

Hey Mark, even some Great White.

Starting tomorrow my 125 lbs weight loss journey begins. Does Weight Watchers count as a hobby? :)

My hobbies besides playing pool.

1. Teaching pool
2. Photography
3. Writing Music / Playing Piano
4. Cooking, Smoking/Grilling
5. Playing Tennis
6. Mentoring
7. Online RPG
8. Shooting
9. Bowling
10. Hosting Parties

I try to be well rounded. Some say I'm an over achiever in that regard.

Lucky Duck you are. See, the difference between you and I is this. I have zero will power when it would come to a situation like that. I would have kept all three and still been out of pocket 4 K for that engine.

If I kept just one, it would have been a tough one. Either the Chief or the Pan Head. Probably the Pan. Most likely, all three.

That is a very nice Bi Plane BTW. I had my spare bedrrom converted to my RC room. I had a huge table that extended almost wall to wall width wise.

I could have put a full 9 foot wing of a scale Super Cub on it. That btw was going to be one of my projects.

I slowly got out of it and more serious about pool so I sold all my equipment. Someone got a great deal. All my planes, radios, tools, etc, for a steal.

But, I can't tell you how many enjoyable nights I spent in that room alone building.

One of the things on my Bucket List is to go back and finish my pilots license that I got side tracked on when I busted up my leg in a motorcycle accident. I might end up with a real scale Cessna 2 seater some day. Hahaha.

Hope you fulfill getting the pilot license. I didn't mention that I was a CFII in everything but jets and balloons...quit 15 or so years ago. Mitch

I think we would get along just fine as I enjoy most of your list here. I haven't played tennis for years due to my back/neck injury, but used to play competitively in Iowa.

Pool
Golf (very badly)
Photography
Gaming - but not video games: boardgames such as Carcassonne and pretty much any card game except poker.

Main Hobby

Collecting and trading cues are my second or third hobby. Vinyl Collecting has been my passion since I was 5. I travel around the country and when at a stop, I smell vinyl in the air. Reality is, vinyl digging is a very dirty job.

Smoking/grilling and testing out different craft brews during this process. I play golf some, not as much as I used to. I figured I could sit home and think up something to get pissed off about for free, rather than play a lot of golf. Every hobby i get into i tend to take too seriously. I used to fish a lot. Which turned into tournament fishing, which became a lot like work.

I love to golf, I usually play 2-3 rounds a week during the short summer here in Colorado.

Going to the lake and wakeboarding and fishing. I've been at the lake 3 of 4 weekends this month and will be going for the next 3 weekends as well. It's like a mini vacation every weekend. So by necessity working on/goofing around with my boat are hobbies as well, I like to tinker and work on it.

Good thread.
