What percent of posters here shoot on leagues?

I never played in a league due to concerns about (after all the league bashing threads here!) ... sandbagging, lack of ettiquette, score doctoring, funky rules, and waiting around. However, I might someday consider a Masters league. I'd love the competition and team aspect if the BS was manageable for me.

looking into leagues myself, but am waiting to find a job and get a set scheadule. Looked into apa and didn't care for the rules

I shoot in the APA just so I have something to do on tuesday night really. It's nothing but a training ground in hindsight though... the players on my team, the captain, and the places we play at.. there just isn't a reason to take it serious.

Don't judge it until you get into it. 9 ball APA is my favorite game by far in the way that they integrate the straight pool point system.

Try it for yourself and you'll see.

I play in a TAP League just for fun...my team won 1st place last session and got to split a whopping $240 between 6 players!

I played in 2 a week. Vnea 8 ball, and a 25 week traveling bar league 8 ball.

I joined the APA and the BCA this year. Never played before. It's interesting and not what I'm used to. I'm enjoying it.

I have played APA in the past. I like the VNEA. Right now I play BCA & Pool-300......SPF=randyg

I play league three nights a week. APA 8 and 9-ball and BCA 8-ball. I'm about to give up the APA leagues. I just can't take it anymore (too many men SL3's that shoot like SL5's ) in the South Arlington APA. I really don't think I'm cut out for "team" pool as I don't really care about the standings or prizes or anything of that nature. I just want to compete and have fun. I think my time and money would be better served in tournaments or just going to the pool hall on any given night and playing someone race to 9 or 11 games for small money.

Sitting in a smoky bar for 4 hours waiting to play a match and then "drawing" a SL3 or SL4 that shoots two skill levels above his rating :( can make for a plenty SHORT match and a crappy night. It's made me very weary of handicapped league play. I am thinking of getting into a Masters league where there is no handicapping. In my BCA league, the teams are handicapped (kinda like bowling) but not the players. This is a superior system to that of the APA imo.

I currently play in a Barbox 8 ball BCA league. But I really want someone to start up a league for blind old farts that have palsy.....maybe I could improve my handicap in that league.....

I play in a BCA/ACS (dual sanctioned) 8 ball league that is in house. Been playing in it for almost 10 years and it gives me one night a week to satisfy my competitive jones. (I also run the league and got my national referee's certification a couple of years ago.)

This year, we'll have at least 2 teams going to Vegas for Nationals and I like the one team's chances to do well.

I play in the BCA Pool League, I have been to Las Vegas once. What an extravaganza...

I play APA, and I've also considered joining another league like BCA. I don't know of any other types of leagues in my area.

Tap

I have tried APA and tend to like TAP better at least here in the area I am in.We had BCA and I joined and it only lasted that session ,I did like the format of playing 5 different players one game each.

I play in the german league system and I love it
20 matchdays from September to the end of May, home and away games, straight pool, 8-Ball, 9-Ball and 10-Ball is played, each player of the team has to play two different games (or just one if you play with 5 people)

I play 9 and 10-Ball as many german players like 8-Ball and 14.1 more, dislike 9-Ball because of the luck involved and can't cope with the 10-Ball break.
I like both games (and 14.1, but can't play 3 games9

apa is nice because it is big, but the rules and competition in tap are easily superior to apa imo.
