Get your truck here.
We'll rob Gina's place. Perske motors on his machines.
Joey,
Don't even think about Texas, only thing I have more of than routers are guns.

Easier to rob people here in Calif.
We have gunphobic lawmakers.
Then again, the way the machining industry is going right now, those used spindles are hovering fencing prices.:D
Those look like Colombos.

has anyone used the .010 bits?i bet they break if you breathe on them too hard.

I've broken a few. Your spindle had better be pretty tight or the runout will break them left and right. I've had the best luck with slow plunge and shallow cuts with pretty high feed rates. I use a precise spindle for that kind of work.

how deep can you go with it Steve?you think faster is better for that bit.we use the .015 but have had breakage and we are going slow, now down to 5 fpm.it's like waiting on Christmas cutting ringstock.thanks for feedback.

Home Depot has em for $97.

Home Depot has quit carrying them in my area. Usually all the stores carry the exact same products so if the H/D near you has any I think I would gobble it up if I needed one.

Yeah they told me At My local depot that are history there. They clearanced them out, and are no longer carrying them. Wish I would have caught them on the discount shelf when they liquidated them. They show them on their site for 99, but out of stock. True value said they could order It, but wanted 125 just for the motor. I also checked all the specialty tool places in town with no luck, even checked the lumber yards that carry tools, and the same thing. I may run to one of the surrounding cities and see If I can find one, or I may just order one from someone online that carries them.

I would just buy the dewalt, but I didn't see that one locally either.

Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement bearings for My porter cable?

Also just to pass this info along. That dewalt looks very much the same as the porter, and should mount the same way. I found one about 20 miles from Me at lowes. Get this only 79 bucks.Just about Everywhere else wanted at least 100 bucks or more for the same router, then you have shipping costs. I saw some place selling for over 150. 79 Seems like a good price, so thought I would pass the info on while they can still be purchased. I may go get one today, so I'll pass a review on before anyone wastes the money trying one out. The base looks the same as the porter. I'd almost venture to say It's the same router with a different switch housing, although I could be mistaken. I'll see when I can compare the two of them side by side. Greg

If you get the bearing out measure it and check with mcmaster.com they may have that bearing. If not Bearings inc. Grainger probably has them too.

Reading this post just reminded me that I need to get bearinhgs for my old one, I have a bearing place just down the street from me, if you want Greg, I can pick up a set for you? Just let me know. I'll post price as soon as I know it. I'll be getting 2 sets anyways.

I've found that the little P/C laminate trimmers don't last very long with a lot of use. The brushes ware out and after replacing 2 times the commuters on the armature are so wore that the brushes only last a very short time. I've got one laying around here somewhere that after wearing out, I turned the armature down and put on a small cog pulley. I had intended to adapt a shunt motor to it and just use it as a spindle so as to be very quiet. I bought a Precise precision grinder shortly after and never finished the project. If someone has the time they might consider doing such a job as it would be no more noisy than any A/C motor running.

I never thought about the warranty. When I was using them on the CNC I would go through 3 sets of brushes and then buy a new one in about a year and a half. I bought five of them before I got the Precise. I still have 2 of them mounted on different machines but they don't get the hours on end usage that they did on the CNC. I used to run them almost constantly for 10 or 12 hours at a time.

You can go to the Porter Cable home page and find ther service center near you and contact them. They will replace them for you or sell you whatever parts you may need.

I just picked up bearings at the local bearing supply shop up the road, total cost was $10 for the set. The front bearing has a rubber coated metal dust shield, just as the original did. If anyone is interested, let me know. I made a delrin mandrel to push out the front bearing, and also to reinsert the new one.
For this price, I can do this 5 times and still be ahead of the game.
