So here is the deal. I have a cheap Players cue that I am using till my Gilbert is done (about 8 months or so)

I also have a Samsara Bump Break that shoots very solid just cant use much english due to the hard tip.

I also have a OB break cue thanks to the raffle Big Truck held. (Thanks angain) so I still have a break cue.

So my delima is I want to use the Samsara to shoot with but not sure if I should order a shaft from them or buy a 314 or OB shaft or a Pred Z shaft

A new shaft will run be anywhere from $150 to $250 depending on what I get. But I have no Idea what I would like. I know I liked the orignal 314's

I will still have a jump cue because I have the dart handle that came with the Samsara.

OR

I could save some $$$ and buy a $75 jump cue and retip the Samsara shaft that I have now. This way I would have a nice "Bar Cue"

I guess if I wanted to I could always put another one of the break tips on it if needed.

Tho I've never used a Samsara JB, from my experience JB's are not the best jumpers in the world anyways...they still are easier than using your playing cue, but they break much better than they jump. I would just suggest you get a jump cue (i've been seeing the Pred Air for <$100 lately) as it would and should out preform the JB cue in the jumping dept.

Then just get a new tip put on the Samsara JB, get a firmer layered one and you won't lose one the break end too much and still can play w/it. Then like you said you got a nice "bar" cue. Don't go too equipment crazy lol, just try and have what you really need, and a good cue to bring to not so good places is something nice to have.

Well I bought the Samsara I really like the way it breaks and jumps. But the OB feels better on the break to me.. (I won the OB in a raffle here)

If it was not for winning it I would have never bought one cause I have the Samsara.

I am looking at jump cues now. I used to have a Lucasi Jump cue and loved it. They don't look like they have changed over the last 5 years.

Since I have the OB to break with I will put a Med tip on the Samsara shaft and use it for shooting only. Just have to figure out what tip now. I use Tailsman med now but was thinking of trying the kamui

But on the other hand me being the cheap bastard I am I may just use the dart handle on the Samsara break/jump shaft for jumping the OB for breaking My Players for the bar cue (it doesn't shoot too bad for what it is) and use my Gilbert when ever I'm playing at the nicer halls. LOL

The Samsara jumps pretty damn good with the top half of the butt on it. I have not tried it with the dart handle yet. I am sure it will jump better with it on there.. I'll be trying it out before changing the tip and buying a jump cue.

Tiger Ultra X

Really

I have also seen most OB shafts online that are the OB2 I don't think I would want one because I would rather have a 12.5 to a 13mm tip.

If I buy a shaft I'll look into the TIger X also. Maybe I can find someone local that has one.

The Ultra X is the closest thing you will find to a standard maple shaft as far as the hit goes, but still gives you the advantages of LD. It's IMO the best of both worlds. Oh and it doesn't feel hollow, if you know what i mean

I would definitely get a new Samsara shaft for it. They make great shafts and I would assume they are less than Predators, etc.

Usually the jump/break shafts have a different taper than a playing shaft - they usually squirt like crazy.

I have to disagree with you on the above quote grey ghost because I have had an original bunjee jump break cue for about 3 years and the jump portion of the cue works just as good if not better than these all in one jump cues, quite frankly I think that they are a rip off and all you are paying for is the name instead of something that works well.

If your are looking for the cheapest way to go, put a quality tip on the OB break cue and play with it. I have played with the OB break cue and can control the cue very well, but if your are not use to hard tips it can be hard to control without miscuing. I play with the OB-1 (hard tip) and break with the OB break shaft on a Gilbert J/B until I get my OB break cue.

OB equipment is made in America and the warranty is excellent.
