My friend is looking at buying this table. What kind of table is it and what are some ball park values?
Thanks in advance!

That's the BBC (Brunswick) Regina 1920's it seems it was a pretty popular table. For a table that old you see alot of them. Between 7 and 9 grand.

That price would be ball park for a restored one. this one is not. My concerns are with what appears to be metal wrapped around the base of the legs and also along the frame. This is NOT original to the table.

Could be something somebody did to decorate but usually done to conceal damage, especially leg damage from water.

I would agree if i did not see the dark water stains around the legs. I also see all the nails that are holding it on!
Your eyes (or monitor) must be better then mine. I only see 1 dark spot on the right front leg above the band.
But I was one of the guys that memorized the eye chart to get working papers back in the 60's.

My buddy is looking into the table and can buy it for $500 :)
That's dirt cheap. You should suggest he ask about the add-on bands around the legs -
whether to cover something up or just for decoration.
Once disassembled you can tell if there are any problems so if your bud
plans to make an offer I'd suggest it be contingent on no major problems
(like cracked slate). Still - $500 is way cheap even if the table needs work.
