What the GREATEST INVENTION in the last 10 Years to make your Pool Game Better

I don't know how long Predator shafts have been around, but I vote for the Predator 314 shaft. 2nd would be Moori tips.

Unfortunately my game has not improved in the last ten years:o , but I will vote for VCR tapes of great players. I wish they were available when I started.

Has to be: Internet Forums

Without bashing heads here for the past few years on and off I wouldn't have been able to work through important aiming, adjustment, stroking, sighting concepts etc.

Without these ideas I'd be still wondering what's going on every 15 minutes or so and getting frustrated. Now I feel I almost always know the cause and the cure, making practice more and more a delight.

The internet, and more specifically internet forums have helped me a great deal by continually raising new ideas, and through discussion, being able to expand and clarify older ones.

All the gimmicks it the world can't compare to that. Gimme a 1920's cue and ivory balls and it won't make much difference at all.

I will say..predator 314 shaft and Jim Rempe's training cue ball..I have learned so much about tip placment on the cue ball by tracking the blue chalk mark on his ball I would advise anyone wanting to increase their cue ball control to get this ball..as for instructional tapes....BAR NONE..How to play pool right by the bca instructor..Jerry Briesath It will help anyone at any level..

Touchtunes jukeboxes complete with downloading features and "play-it now" options. Now I can walk into a pool room and, rather than listen to Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith or some other hill-billy music, I can annoy everyone with a pleasant mix of heavy metal and rap!!!

I should revise my answer to be from Predator to the internet forums. It is on these forums that I learned about squirt and Predator shafts.

And I would attribute most of the improvement in my game to you folks. Always get excellent advice here. Thanks again!

3 things:

1. Predator shaft

2. Tapes of pro matches widely available to study

3. Common availability of 60" cues.

Forums without it i wouldn't have learned about Pivot Points and Aiming systems

Never really own'd anything that was a training product to help me out, A old Coke Bottle help'd my stroke, always use a striped ball for learning english, never bought any books but i would have to say recordings of pro matches on ESPN really help'd my game.

You folks have hit most of them. I think I'll just say what I think it isn't.

Might have to say 20 years for mine not sure when they started appearing.
What it isn't is Plastic Racks.

Amen. tap-tap.
Also would add expensive mechanical racks ("as seen on TV!!") ain't makin' my list, either.

So what is on the list?
Internet (including this forum and the wonderful WEI table) - the ability to access collective pool knowledge about shots, strategies, aiming systems, diamond systems, cues, cue-builders, types of wood, tips, ferrules, drills, accesories etc. etc. The amount of information available now is staggering.

I would like to thank Mr. Pat Fleming at ACCU-STATS for making my game better, and I would like to thank Mr. Adolphus Busch for taking my game right back in the toilet, but allowing me not to care.

Doesn't qualify. At least one Internet pool forum started in February 1993. Alt.sport.pool. It has subsequently degenerated, but in it's first years, it was more on-topic than this forum, for example.
