I'll admit that I've never seen these cues, or really care to, BUT, this type of marketing plan can work. Barney Adams made an EASY to hit fairwaywood (I know, golf, but stick w/me here) called the Tight Lies. They weren't meant for (marketed towards) the guys who could rip their current fairwaywood 250 down the middle. They were to help the guys who topped, sliced, hooked, etc. their woods, so they too could hit the ball like the better players. They were sold thru info-mercials and were a HUGE hit. Since, Adams Golf has become a bit lower tier, yet staple in the golf industry.
BTW, the guys who could hit their Callaways, Taylor Mades, Titleists, etc. said the same things about the Tight Lies that you all are saying about these cues....gimmicky, low quality, not "traditional looking" or whatever, and Adams sold TONS of Tight Lies anyways. Now, will Liquid Wick be the next Adams???? Probably not, but it COULD work if bangers (pool's hackers) think it'll help them play better (and get some of the chicks that dance around in the commercials - LOL).
