What tip for you? (Not break cue)

Although there may have been another post (or more) of this type, I couldn't find it.

Anyways, I would like to have a poll on what type of tip do you use, and your reasons for doing so. Also list what games you play.

.........This is excluding break cues, but you can comment on that too if you want..........

I personally always seem to go back to Triangle, because they hold shape, and last a long time with decent performance. I have tried softer and layered tips, but don't like the constant upkeep they seem to need. I have heard a lot recently about Sniper tips, and I am considering purchasing a box soon to try them out for awhile. I will report back on that, but if you have any reviews please list them here.
 
I use a Moori soft on my playing cue and white diamond on my jump cue and break cue. I have never had a problem with my tip mushrooming and rarely have to do maintenance on it.
 
Triangle all day...no maintenance, holds up great, costs hardly anything. Similar to a Le Pro, but a little firmer, lasts a little longer, and plays a little better.

I hate Moori's. If Moori's were free and Triangles costed $50 a peice, I'd still use a Triangle... Layered tips suck.

Elkmasters are way too soft to play 9-ball with.

I'm with you......gotta go Triangle.

I've had Moori, Sniper, Talisman, Le Pro, Elkmaster, and Sumo tips......ALL of 'em changed over to Triangles.

Only way to fly, in my opinion.
 
snipers. best looking and packed with juice. when i get mine put on till i get it taken off i never touched the tip never needs reshaping. dome shape after a week (for me) stays the same till it comes off. no mushroom whatsoever
 
I just used a Sniper tip for the first time and I like it very much. I have a Moori on the other shaft and I play with the sniper tiped shaft more.

Are snipers the greyish colored ones?
 
I have a Tiger Dynamite on my BHQ cue, and I really like the tip.

It holds chalk very well, and has yet to mushroom out. I can even break with my cue if need be which i have a often too.

yeah and they have a crosshair on the backside.

ive had talismans, tigers, snipers and mooris before during my layered tip phase, and out of that group i still prefer moori. i dont know if its just a personal preference but i prefer regular triangle hard tips to most layered tips with the exception of mooris.
when i go in for a new tip i usually go with a hard triangle, the hit isnt that much better to warrent the extra 20 bucks they charge for a moori. if it was half price i might be tempted otherwise.
 
I just got a Sniper put on. I used to play with Triangles. I also have tried the tiger laminated tip (named tiger...really!) didn't like it THAT much...

Gonna let you know what I think about the sniper.
 
Everest all the way.....That is my favorite tip by far. Snipers play great. Mooris are awesome but Everest is just a personal preference. Oh and those Kamuis are the nuts just can't see myself ordering them when they are 18 dollars loose (uninstalled).

Over the years I have tried a few different tips, LePro, Triangle, Hercules, Moori, Everest and Sniper are among them. I sincerely believe that among all of those the Triangle is far and away the hands down best value and an excellent tip.

BTW--has anyone tried StingRay tips? I installed one for a friend over a year ago and it's still in fantastic shape. Recently, my friend let me shoot a few games with his cue and I had no complaints or quibbles about the StingRay.

I own a pool room, I sell billiards equipment, and I do complete cue repairs, and I have had the advantage to try most every tip on the market over the last thirty six years.

Hands down I preffer a simple Le Pro over anything else!!!!

My Moori is nice but i have also played with Hercules tips and they are pretty nice and easy on the wallet.;)
 
I have two Moori quicks I'll never use, anyone have some really hard Triangles they'd be willing to trade?.
