If you were to build a cue with a G10 pin and phenolic joint collars, a 14.5" solid cocobolo forearm and a 14.5" handle, what type of wood would you use for the handle to naturally balance the cue at 19" and weigh 20oz?

Heres what i'm talkin about:

Thanks

I think you would NEVER design your own automobile, so why do you think that you can design such a Q & still think you can have a balance point WHERE EVER YOU THINK YOU CAN HAVE IT? Qmaking is designed to produce a PLAYABLE CUE & hopefully attractive to the public. We do this this not because we imagine different woods in different places on that Q, but what will WORK. Your Q design has no room for a butt SLEEVE. Therefore you have designed yourself into a corner. This Q would be ugly & have a balance point somewhere around 19" but would be around 18 oz. & very forward balanced...JER

i think he is designing it like that, and i have seen someother cues like it as well.

i would think you could use another Rosewood like Honduran or Brazilian.you need something that weighs more than Maple to bring the balance point back.i am guessing b/c i have never made anything like what you are talking about, but as a guess i think you need a medium heavy to heavy wood for the butt.Purpleheart might also work, but would look terrible.

Thanks for the suggestion. The handle will be covered with black leather from the buttcap to the middle of the cue. There will be no buttsleeve.

Anybody else have a good idea for a handle wood choice to complement the long coco forearm?

G10 pin, 20 oz and forward balance?
Obviously the handle has to be lighter than coco but u need to get up to 20 oz and have a balance of 19"?
Maple with 1 oz of weight in the A-joint area.

i would say just a piece of Purpleheart since it will be wrapped.might come out just a hair heavy but you could always bore a little out in the butt.it should be pretty close though.

Maple with the weight would also work.
