I use the PBK2 for breaking and sometimes the new x-breaker (I like the BK2 better for breaking though- hard to beat that).
Just ordered a new Diveney with a lake salvage shaft. Interested to see how it turns out.
I tried a Predator shaft for about a week and I gave up on it and about a year later a friend of mine talked me into trying a 314 shaft again. I kept hearing him tell me about the difference in deflection between his standard shaft versus his predator and I decided maybe I should give the 314 another try. This time I put some time into learning to use the shaft with some tips from my friend and after I finally adjusted to it I don't think i'd want to switch back to a regular shaft. I think it's what you get used to as far as what you prefer in a shaft for your cue. If a player doesn't fully understand deflection then they may not like a predator because there are shots that the predator shaft doesn't hit as well as a standard shaft IMO, but the overall advantage of being able to aim where you want the cue ball to go is worth the slight disadvantage to me.suckershot said:I used to play with a Predator cue, so for a while, I had used a Predator shaft. I then purchased a Rick Howard cue, and since that is no small investment, I decided I would at least try to play with the standard shaft.
Being Predator programmed, even 6 months in, I'm still not totally in tune with it. But it's not terribly difficult. It did help that one of the two shafts was actually about 12.5 mm instead of the full 13 mm like the other.

The USS does play great but I'm not sure that I like it more than I would like any other very stiff shaft (God that sounds bad, stop giggling!). My favorite shaft of all is a 24 year old Schon shaft that is currently tipless. My USS is a close 2nd, though.

This is very interesting.
I hope everyone continues voting so that we get a good overall consensus of what everyone is using.
Sorry about not including some of the shafts that some of you guys and gals use but there are only 10 available options on a poll. I guess I should have left out Meucci red dot.
If your REGULAR playing shaft isn't listed, please add make a post and name it.
THANKS!.
