Dozens of tables (mostly barboxes), a good variety of food and drinks, high traffic (lots of bar players), bar tournaments at least once a week.

A level table. A table without dead rails and ripped cloth that looks like they changed baby diapers on it.
A cook that washes his hands after trips to the mens room and after scratching his dog where the itchy neutering scar is.
A savant smarter than the owner's son that can't figure out that the day crowd of retired men don't care for extra loud acid rock.
A spoon to stir the coffee that doesn't have dried egg or pizza sauce on it.
A mens room where you don't need a gas mask to wash your hands. You walk out of there and your shoes want to stick to the carpet, as if they re-tip cues in there and spilled glue on the floor.
At night, characters with diverse backgrounds come in that sport a vocabulary of up to 50 words that all start with "mother", shiny gold jewelry, heavily sedated on perfume, heavyweight female companions and a laugh that will haunt a house. Any good banjo or fiddle CD would serve to drive that business away before a shooting occurs. They bring their own pizza, burgers and drinks anyway.

Perfect pool hall

Easily located near several reputable businesses, (city pool room) 64+ well-maintained tables of all sizes, Diamonds available, large variety of tournaments and meet-ups, smoke-free, friendly, knowledgeable excellent staff and service, great repair/retail shop, instructors, camera security from parking lot to inside, large well lit parking lot, close relationship with local law enforcement, low "all-day" rates, curfew enforced, good music variety, darts, arcade, nice café with large menu, bar, open early to late 365 days per year, obnoxiousness and loitering not tolerated. If it sounds like I'm describing a place close to me...I am. +1 for them! ;)

Mixture of table models and manufacturers. Some faster, some tighter, all different in their set-up. With a brief explanation at the table to educate each newbie to pool. Much like a golf hole's diagram. Bring as much education to your customer's az possible. That will build their curiosity and commitment to getting better.

My perfect pool hall would have different themes in different areas. I'd have at least a couple of sections for league players, a couple of sections for casual players, a few 'money' tables, a few tables for 'date night', etc.

Envision plenty of three to four foot high walls. Maybe even railings. My perfect pool hall needs a lot of square footage

The league table sections would be compromised of four tables each. And enough space where two players can shoot on adjacent tables, and not be in each other's way.

And a couple of raised chairs at each table.

In the league section, I would have a TV and camera on each table, visible for the rest of the team to see the action. Good cameras and TVs, so you can tell which ball is which !!

Each pool table (especially the league tables) would have a large enough seating table nearby for other players to eat, drink, play cards, and watch the match. It's a b**** when everybody is spread out and can't see what's going on.

And I would want each section 'sunk in', even if it's only one step from the 'deck' to the 'playing area'. This (ideally) keeps 'regular' (?) people from walking through that playing area on a regular basis. And as a rule, the wait staff isn't permitted to go into that 'sunken -in' section unless permitted by a player (this keeps the outside distraction arguments to a minimum).

I'd start with that :grin-square:

I would rather than have a "pool hall" or "local bar" I would like it to be a "billiards club". Make it a little closer to the golf world. One gets tired of playing on terrible equipment, eating bad food, bar tenders with terrible attitude and can't make a good drink to save their life.

We need more good lucky women on this sport even if they are just expectators lol and less people missing teeth trying to play you 20$ sets like it's the end of the world.

Topless waitresses, pockets as big as two gallon buckets, and free cigars.
I could do without the cigars, if I had to, as I quit smoking some years back.

That golden break place looks amazing. Holy crap look at those lights... like 70 square feet of lighting for a single 9 foot table. Shame it's an olhausen lol.

A seperate room in the back with 4 tight tables where respectable players can play in peace and get into action without loud idiots yelling and bumping into them.

Topless rackgirls, 6 ft between tables an walls, 4'' pockets diamond tables, and a flat rate for the whole day 10 bucks play all day. And a real pro shop with everything possible to buy not 1or 2 items and a we can order it for you.
Hey pool hall owners i can order it too. I want to buy my stuff like i buy produce i want to look at it compare it with other stuff. Ugg i hate all the shop on line pro shops.

where are these rooms at? kinda flashy but still nice, love the TV table.

They are in Malaysia. Flashy for being the group that had opened up a total of 17 outlets in the past 5-6 years and expecting more to come! Ko Pin Chung played in the final with his brother Ko Pin Yi last year while Corteza was the champion the year before. I believe local players would get a chance to see more Europian players soon.
