3 guys from out of town show up at your Pool room. They drink and have a good time for a couple of days, joking around, getting to know some regulars there, and scoping out the Pool action. A couple of them play some regulars for $50 and $100 sets, losing some and winning some.
You are a serious player, and play for some cash. One of the guys approaches you and wants to match you up with his friend, who you have watched shoot for about 10-15 minutes. He mentions that they want to make it worthwhile, and you finally agree on $500 a set, 3 sets guaranteed, race to 15, with a 3rd party holding the money, and you come to an agreement who should hold the money, which is a local truasted person who works in the Pool room.
You go to a private table to play. The player and his 2 friends are there, and 2 friends of yours come over to watch. You play the first set, and you come out on top, 15-12.
You go to tell the person holding the money that you won, and your opponent comes too, thinking he is going to post another $500 for the second set. You tell the person holding the money you won, and your opponent says, "No, he didn't, I did".
An argument ensues, and his 2 friends back him up, and your 2 friends back you up. The 3rd party knows you pretty well, but doesn't know what to believe. You are flabbergasted this guy would pull something like that.
Now what? What would you do?
