Just wondering which is the best pure jump cue........i love my sledgehammer for breaking but i cant jump with it very well. I got a j@j jump break i can jump great with but i dont like how it breaks as much as the sledge, so im going to start carrying a pure jump cue too, what to get what to get?

Guy by the name of Keith Erickson in Bozeman Montana. Custom buckhorn wood butt and with a white diamond tip its the best I've used. Don

Ned Morris, the creator of the Stealth Airtime, drew his cueball back table length after performing a jump shot where the object ball was at the opposite corner at the other end of the table away from the cueball. He used a Bunjee Jumper to do it and it was done in front of a couple dozen people.

This was at the VNEA Nationals in Las Vegas in 1999.

It is a myth that the cueball cannot be controlled accurately with a phenolic tip. The tip on the Stealth is leather but it is treated and is as hard as some phenolics.

Just want to inject some factual information to this topic on this point only.

I agree with you. With the correct technique and good equipment anything is possible.

My point is some folks are more concerned with getting the CB off the table and forgetting about CB control.

For ME the Stealth is the bomb for 3 reasons:

1. The tip seems to offer more control ie easier to draw or apply english in conjunction with the jump if needed. I do own a Bunjee as well and I believe the tip is actually leather as well. The Bunjee works well but I have more success with the Stealth.

2. The real key for me is the ability to easily have a short or longer jump cue as needed. This was one of the reasons I like my XBreaker if used for jumping (prior to picking up the Stealth). My Bunjee only offered this capability after I picked up the short extension. This did seem to affect the balance though.

3. I have also used the Stealth as a regular cue where let's say I have the CB almost touching my OB and I want to shoot the shot directly (no angle) I don't want to foul from a push shot. The shorter than normal cue makes the shot a little easier to elevate my cue and draw the CB so as not to foul.

So this works for me and why the Stealth is now my choice for a dedicated jumper.

i took you guys advice and ordered some white diamond tips today for my stealth. Joe is a great guy........on his website he offers the tips for like $10 each, order 2 and u get a 3rd free. So i contact him and tell him to send me 3 tips and bill my paypal for the $20.........he bills me for 11.99 and says hes running that deal on ebay (3 for 11.99). Not a huge deal but he could have sold it to me for 20 and id never known the diff.

I bought one of the first Bungee jumps cues in 1999 in Vegas and simply loved it. I could jump balls 1/2 the length of the bar table. I also bought an extension for it as some of the shots were further out and needed the leverage. Nothing was better. till............ I bought my Sledgehammer..:D

I sold the Bungee as fast as I could. I love the Sledgehammer. Jumps great. I think you just need a little more training with it. Stick with it. Work with it a little more, then you won't want to give it up. JMO

Best

The best, without a doubt, for lift and accuracy, was the X-Jumper with the X2 tip and bowling ball ferrule.

My Stealth AT-1 works pretty well. I put a white diamond tip on it. I have tried others and this is my favorite.

This is a great jump cue, the ball goes where you aim it, Long or short jumps with a easy natural stroke.

What the heck is a bowling ball ferrule?

Jacoby jumper...

To me it depends on what kind of table you are playing on. Most of you know me from my stroketrainer so I do have the time to get to see and try all the jump cues and things out there. Most of the people that sell them will not tell you what you need to know about them. They are always jumping on a Diamond table which has thick slate and a light cue ball on it. This is ok if you play on big tables and just about any jump stick will work on them. If you play on a bar box like a valley then it is a different thing. I like the Jacoby the best. I have been able to jump a chalk with of the cue ball on a Valley bar box and can jump even closer on a diamond. It has the best control because of the weighted tip end. (JMHO) I can have just about anyone jumping with one of these in as little as 5 jumps. Good Luck, Doug

a 1/2" ferrule made from a Bowling Ball.

And Jacoby was one of the jump sticks I had tried before I tried the X-Jumper. (also Frog, Scorpion, Bunjee, Falcon, custom made jumpers, Mezz, and a few others). Jacoby lifts pretty well, but accuracy suffers somewhat, as do a lot of the real light jump cues do, and they are not good, or as good, as a heavier jump cue for long jumps.

The X-Jumper is not what I would call light, but the harder tip, X2, does the lifting for you, but the heavier more solid feel to the X-Jumper lends itself to better control and accuracy. It was the closest thing I have ever felt compared to jumping with a regular cue with the differences being: You can get over balls close up, and you had control with just a real slight slippage feel from a regular tip, no more than say a water buffalo tip. Putting English on jump shots was not hard to do with the X-Jumper compared to other jump cues.
