What's the best rack out there, and where can I get it?

I've never tried this rack, but it has two strikes against it already in my book. First, it is associated with Fast Larry, and second, they make a nineball rack, which is a totally useless idea. I'm just sayin'...

Hey, you may not like Fast Larry, that's your choice, no problem.

However, the rack IS the nuts...

Some people like 9-ball racks; I'm not one of them.

That full size rack is the strongest rack I've ever seen.

I was having a little fun, I guess I should have used these:) . I haven't tried the rack, so I can't comment on it's quality.

You are right that I may not like Fast Larry; in fact I do not like Fast Larry. I guess that wouldn't stop me from buying something from his site if I wanted it and nobody else had it.

Do you know anyone who likes a nineball rack?

The rack I have now was on Ebay for Amish people.
It's better than the Hercules or any rack I've seen.

I carry the Sardo Tight Rack M-5000, as well as The Chameleon Rack, I like em both...

PM for super low price..

I've actually got a Sardo M-5000, but I find it a bit cumbersome- I need a basic rack.;)

All others fail in comparison.

I know some people who, yes, like the nineball rack. They don't play pool very well. Heck, some of them don't even play. Yet they insist that a nineball rack be used; go figger.

I haven't seen any that can compare to the Diamond. Their website used to have them in several different types of wood, different oak finishes, cherry, mahogany, cocobolo... but I havn't been there in a while. Their website, in my experience, is not their strong suit.

What about The Laser Rack?

Check out the thickness of the walls on this rack, nearly an inch thick!

Hello All,

I am fairly new to this forum and have enjoyed it thus far. I've been playing pool for ~15 years and have participated in APA Team 9-Ball leagues for the last 6-7 years. I'm not on a team at the moment and have opted to play more local tourneys (most recent being Danny K's "Rotation Continuous" tourney).

I came across this thread and found it appropriate to post about my new product coming soon-- The Laser Rack (patented). Btw, if I'm at all out of line because I'm a newbie, I apologize and will delete my post if necessary. I am currently a one-man operation looking to introduce new products to the billiards community. I have a fully functional prototype of the rack and plan to have my first production batch ready by June 2008.

What is it?
It's a triangle rack that will repeatably give you perfectly positioned racks. No more slightly "crooked" racks and no more need for the foot spot sticker. Also, you can rack from both sides of the table! My product has incorporated laser technology to enable precise & repeatable racking of balls. My first production build will be made out of a nice wood rack with similar dimensions as mentioned by "lights_out".

Please feel free to visit my website (link below in sig).. I look forward to hearing your feedback & comments. Also, if you're in SoCal and would like to meet up for some pool, beer, and a demonstration, feel free to contact me.

That looks like a pretty cool tool. I subscribed to your mailing list and will be wondering about the price. Thanks, Jim

I've been looking at these. The nice thing is that they are made by Diamond, and the inside is large enough so that you don't bump the balls when removing the rack. Anyone try these yet?

Ive got one of those. It works perfect. No problem getting the balls to freeze. I had no idea it was made by Diamond. edit. They were also used at the U.S open last year. IIRC

That looks exactly like the one I bought from Diamond. I think I emailed Diamond last week but I haven't gotten a response. I can't find a rack on their website.
