Whats the best this, Whats the best that, Oh my God!!!!!!!!!!!

You are certainly welcome to your opinion, I am sorry if the intent of this thread was beyond your comprehension.

Oh and by the way, sometimes ignorance can be blistful and a way some people choose thier lives. This thread was not meant to berate anyone, it was designed to help those who have questions understand that no ones Opinion is more important than theirs concerning their equipment. Lets face it no one can tell another person what will work well for them, only that person can figure that out over a period of time by hands on experience.

Thanks for you post:)

Again, this shows that you are practically retarded.

People can't use experience they DO NOT HAVE. This forum allows people to use the experience of others that they can't get first hand.

Now read that a few hundred times a day until it sinks in.

Like I said, I think the Silvan Reading Comprehension Institute is something that could help you, because I believe even more now that you are functionally challenged concerning your ability to comprehend what you read!!!!:)

Please go ahead and post again you only prove that I am correct with every post you make!!!!;)

Thanks for you post!!!:)

LOL... Actually we're laughing at you because you can't understand that people ask questions BEFORE they buy something they can't try, and not after.

Now put your helmet back on, and get back to your group.

I think its a shame when I go to league night (which I am forunately no longer going to =) ), and I see some very poor players asking around about what equipment they should buy to play better. A couple of years ago, someone came by with a lucasi cue and slapped on a predator shaft, and had a Sniper tip put on it, all these players who can barely stroke a cue properly saw this and bought one for themselves. Now everyone in the damn place plays with a predator shaft and a sniper tip. Unfortunately, they actually see results with that!!!. I was damn shocked to see that these guys who can't get a lick of english on a cueball due their piss poor mechanics, were told to buy a 300 dollar shaft and voilla, they can get some minimal action on the cueball and are now telling everyone to go buy the very same stuff. Its a damn shame that they preach better equipment over better training. A properly trained stroke can play A class pool without a layered tip or expensive aftermarket shaft. I've seen it with my own eyes. One of the locals in Hoboken, NJ played a few games with me using my break cue which has a phenolic tip and 13.75mm taper. Its beautiful to see how far proper mechanics can take you. He could draw the ball more than 2 lengths of the table with my break cue, and after learning a little bit, I too have learned to play a decent game of pool with my break cue, it sure feels really damn good.

That has been the intent of this thread from the beginning, it was never intended to berate anyone for asking questions. Far to many people purchase equipment that they do not need due to the advice others who also do not understand that all the equipment in the world is nothing but a tool. That without the proper fundamentals to use these tools they do not serve their intended purpose. When all is said and done in far to many cases most players who want to improve their games should spend their money on the lessons and not equipment that doesn't compliment their abilities.

Like I have said a few times, there is no best only what works good for the individual who uses it.

Thanks for your post

I don't mind those type of posts. In this day and age there aren't pool halls everywhere, like there used to be. Its harder to try out new tips, cues, and what not. If 20 people out of 25 love a tip, or how a cue hits, then that is a good sampling base of opinions. Can make it easier in finding something you like.

I know what I like, from trial and error, but not everyone is going to spend 20+ years trying stuff out to see if they like it.

Dakota, you are again welcome to your opinion, the Negative Reputation you gave me changes nothing, except that you must think that it some how hurts me!!!!!!:D

Whats the best this,... 05-14-2010 01:19 PM Dakota Cues You are too Stupid to even realize how stupid you are LOL!!!!

I am sorry you are so offended by my comments, the only thing I can think is that you must feel they apply to you very clearly, and that was not my intention. Stick to Poker, because your knowledge of what it takes to learn the game of pool is lacking, and it will cost you a great deal of money buying every new thing that comes along, or by gambling.

Have a nice day.:)

Thanks for your thoughts on the subject, and I agree that some people may benefit from these posts. However, I also think that these posts will also confuse the issue for as many people. I suspect that most people who ask these questions are new or have little experience, and in many many cases their needs could be served by not spending a great deal of money to find what will serve them well. Above you said that if 20 out of 25 people like something that it is a good sampling, and with that I agree, however, far to many times people coma away with the impression that this new tip will change their game. This is not true, and we both know that only knowing how to use that tip will make any difference in how well it works.

Thanks again for your thought's, and have a great day!!!!

Craig, do you need a hug buddy? Sounds like you've been asked a lot of questions lately. You have answered a couple of my questions in the past, very well i might add. I would tell everyone in the future that lepros are the best, nothing else matters...hope it works out for ya.

Yes, I think it appears that I opened up a can of worm's and some of them have crawled into this thread. But I am a big boy I won't let it get me down, everyone is entitled to thier own opinion besides you never know what you will catch when you go fishing.:)

Thanks for your post

After reading hundreds of posts on whats the best cue(almost every one made has been "The Best"and also almost "Every tip is the best") if I was an absolute beginner I would be so confused I would not know what to buy.
What I do know is that my inexpensive Lucasi with the stock shaft and a triangle tip works just fine for me. Will this set up work for everyone? Nope. That's why we have choices and share opinions so we can make at least a reasonably educated decision.
Now in the words of Rodney King "Can't we all just get along?"

Eat the worms. They are good for your eyes.
It will help your CTE aiming system ( the best ) , robotic pendulum stroke and snooker stance ( the best stance ).
Remember, Vermont maple are the best shafts.

Joey, you can't eat the worm I am talking about, this worm is a ring worm!!!!:D

I thought that the best Maple for shafts was Western maple:confused:you mean all this time I have been using the wrong maple:eek: Now I know why the shafts I have been making have such a soft hit!!:)

One thing I think you may be missing Craig, and that is the affect of confidence on playing pool. Lets say I'm a banger, I suck, but I'm mildly interested in the game. I'm playing in a 5 dollar tournament every week, getting beat, but enjoying the beer. Someone that plays better than me plays with a elkmaster on a predator. They tell me why I may like it (same theory as asking here actually), and I buy into it. Now I have confidence in my equipment, so that isn't my concern anymore. I may now try to figure out why I still can't draw the ball correctly, or bank a ball, instead of blaming my cue. I'm confident my cue, tip, shaft, whatever isn't the problem, so I must be doing something wrong. I might ask more questions now, and continue to play instead of taking up golf.

And I also now have a financial investment in learning. My favorite pool hall was run by a snake oil salesmen. He got every kid that came in the door to buy a cue, got them financially invested in coming back. For years you couldn't get a table in that room without waiting for 6 hours.

I do see your point, however, I am uncertain that it works that way. I don't think that confidence is gained because some one tells you what works good for them, I kinda think that confidence is gained when you get good results using something.

I have customers coming in almost every day buying the latest tip or shaft that comes out. It seems people are always looking for some magic fix that will give them an edge, yet they can't see the forest through the tree's, it has never been their equipment only their technique. Some where while they were learning to play, they have convinced themselves that they no longer need to focus on fundamentals which is a big mistake.

I do know that no matter what is said here in the end people are going to continue to do what they do, and that is never going to end. I suppose I just hate to see people fall into the equipment trap that many fall into, but at least they are spending money. I have come to the conclusion if you can't help them through advice just sell them what they are asking for and let them figure it out.:)

Golfers try out new clubs, balls, shoes, gloves, tees, damn near anything to have a magic bullet. If the average pool player spent anywhere near as much as the average golfer, pool would be a lot better off.

I do have to agree with you, some would be much better off.
