looking for opinions on differnt types of tips that are hard hold there shape really well solid hit and plenty of grab.

Miscue-ing has a lot more to do with where you hit, than what you hit with.

Hard tips!

These are very hard tips but most likely the best ones that you will ever receive or use on how to avoid a miscue.

"Work every single day to develop and maintain a very straight and smooth, accelerating final stroke.

Hit the cue ball precisely where you intend to hit it and at the correct speed you need to hit it as well as at the proper angle of insertion that you need to hit it.

Keep your head very still while shooting.

These are the most important, but HARD tips you will ever use to avoid a miscue."

I have been using Kamui Black H for years and rarely miscue. Rarely even scuff the tip. As Dave said, miscues are more stroke than tip related.

I understand that stroke and all of the above is the way to avoid a miscue It was kind of the point i have an inconsistant stroke was thinking about playing with a hard tip so if i stroke bad there will be consiquences.hopefully will cause better shot routine and focus on every shot.

I have been playing with milk duds and buffalo find both reliable... both are hard......

Tips

The best hard tips that grab and keep the shape are DS tips Medium, in my opinion.
Very famous in Europe.

I have a few if you are interested PM me, thank you!

Jarod...A different tip will not fix your stroke issues. Get a lesson from a qualified instructor (one who uses video analysis), and it will save you time, energy and frustration.

Well what you ask for here^^^ has nothing to do with miscueing but for what you ask for above try a G2 Hard

The bad consequences would be miscues. You could get the same result by not ever using chalk. What you would learn is that you can't hit the cue ball off-center. That would likely cripple your game for life.

I think you need to find some other method to learn to hit the ball where you intend.

I think the type of tip is unrelated to that part of learning pool.

Tip question?

Bob, I agree with what you said and say mostly because you said it! But, still, I would be interested to hear what tip(s) you have tried and what you impressions were. Not that one tip is better than because, as with cue sticks, there are many great ones but why we buy one and not the other is that certain something that satisfies us on an individual level.

hard tips

I agree that the G2 Hards are one of the best hard tips you can buy today; and I also think that the Kamui Mediums are a good choice.
However, the DS made in Korea I think they are best, especially when it comes to not losing shape, they don't mushroom!

Your fundamentals, straight follow through and,of corse where do you hit the cue ball are all important to avoid miscueing, however ,I disagree that that is the main reason for a miscue.
A bad tip is a big part of the reason why players miscue.

I think the tip is the most important part of a cue. And simply put:-layer tips give conventional/cheap leather tips the 6 and out wild and all the breaks!

Sure I've played with pressed elk masters, lepros, and triangle tips that were very good, I actually liked water buffalos too when I wanted a hard tip, and I thought "some" of them hit very nice, had a nice grip and feeling.

However, none of these brands are consistent enough, and furthermore, they won't hold the chalk as well as a good quality layer tip.
Not even close!

When you're on top of a ball,or frozen on the rail you will miscue a lot more with a conventional tip, than a layer tip.

I'm about to distribute the DS brand in the US. For now I only have small quantities.

I'm also a distributor for G2 tips.

Any of you guys would like to try any of these two quality brands PM me for a promotional price please
