what's the best way to fix DENT'S ON THE BUTT OF THE CUE?

I would send it out and have it refinished. Feel free to give me a call if you are interested in getting this fixed.
Thanks

well for few small dent's no need to ship out to get htat done..so i just learn for some small repair that i can do small repair my self that's why.but thanks

Small repair?

You may think that removing a shaft dent is easy, so a butt is also, no such luck. Removing a finish, then refinishing, is harder than just finishing a cue you made! You cannot repair a dent without removing the finish first, then you have to sand it all out, if it was stained then try and match the color and restain, then finish. It is one of the tougher repairs and you need more skill than most maint jobs. Good luck with that.

i got few dent's on my CUE BUTT.i wonder what's the best way to get them repair ? or fix

If it is just a ding (meaning the finish has not broken through to the wood) then I just use a my band-aid method which is to take a piece of the non-stick too much tape and make a little patch of paper towel square about 1/16th thick and stick to the middle of the tape. Wet the patch with water and put the patch over the ding. Use the ends of the tape to secure the patch to the cue. Every day add a little water and within a few days the ding will have swelled up through the finish and not be noticeable. For deep dings it can take a week.

If the finish has been knocked out and a whole in the finish is all that is left I would put a drop of nail polish in the hole and let it cure for 24 hours and just play with the cue until it needs refinishing.

Yes Sir,

Once I did it to a cue with over 100 dings that was sent to me for refinishing. The cue was perfect and I did not have to spray it.

ok thanks i guess i'll test it out with a cue that i no longer need so i can learn soemthing new from you guys..and once again.thank you

Wow, didn't know you could do the water trick with the finish. Thanks Arnot.
I have an RX Cue Dr. Its a piece of borosilicate glass rod that is supposed to take dings out of a shaft by rubbing it vigorously. I found that by using the wet towel and raising the grain a bit and then the rod, it works better.
If they are just minor finish dings, the glass rod will fix them up to at least an acceptable level. You also run the risk of dulling the surrounding finish so you have to be careful.

Hate to be the one to tell you this but using that rod does not take the ding out of a shaft - it just elongates it. In other words it reduces the angle of the ding so you don't feel it as much. If you use the rod on an area that has finish on it you will surely lift/damage the finish and that is why it looks dull. In my opinion you should throw that rod away.

You can use the band-aid method on a shaft ding as well.

Dear Sir.

Thanks for this wonderful information. I was wondering if you have tried that on a BK2? Those wood are wrapped in some kind of plastic. Would the same method work?

Thank you

No I havn't because I don't allow Chinese cues in my shop.

I have always believed in buying American if possible even if the price is higher. American made cues have historically been of much higher quality then Chinese cues and a much better value over the long run. JMHO.

One of the reasons we are in the ecomonic mess we are in today is because of Chinese imports.

Predator BK2. Chinese Cue? I thought that Predator is an American brand?

I respectfully disagree with you that the cause of the economic mess America is in is due to Chinese imports. Its more a problem with greedy people. Irregardless of race, religion, or geographical location. But then again this is really a topic for discussion in another thread.

Thank you for the information you have shared nonetheless.

I think you should try to fix it yourself, if that is what it takes for you to learn try it. I mean that way you will also find out how much damage you can do by doing things you are not trained to do.

There is no easy way to correct these type of problems and unless the work is done correctly it can cost more in the long run, the other posters to this thread have given you good advice, I would follow it.

Take care

All Predator cues are made in China with the exception of some limited Custom Cues made by American Cues makers, so in the end 99.5% are made in China.;)
