What's up with Efren's cue in this video?

it kinda looks like the tape they put on tennis rackets. This of course is a guess as i have no idea what it is.
 
He did the same thing at the Derby once. He said it was too cold in there and the cue was too cold for him.

i don't remember him using a wrap on a cue and it looks like the wrap is falling apart or does he have some sort of tape on the handle of the cue?

I have seen many pros wrap their cues with tennis or badminton racket wraps. I myself prefers decal paper lol

I think Efren could shoot with a broom handle & still take home the cabbage.
Just saying, they don`t call him the magician for nothing.

That cue is no cheapo cue.
At one point in the video you can see it has super sharp points
plus various other expensive decorations both forearm and butt sleeve.
Clearly not a cheap cue.

Yes clearly not a cheap cue, but if someone that knew nothing about cues were to look at that with the wrap falling off, they would most likely assume it wouldn't be worth much.
